  • Banking Sector: Worst Is Yet to Come [View article]
long term we are in big trouble, agree, but short term who wants to fight the fed ? the trend is your friend as they say , enjoy it while you can and be ready to get out. I have a stop loss on each financial I own and keep raising it when the opportunity presents itself . How long is it going to last nobody knows in the very short term. Is this investing or gambling ? a combination of both but I play this game with the financials only with the money I can afford to lose. I am not putting my future or my family s future in the hands of those CEOs that can t control their institutions .

  • Big Banks in Trouble: Huge Mortgage Write-Downs Seem Inevitable [View article]
Milkweed is a dreamer, wake up , open your eyes and if you still think we are at the end of this real estate cycle you are joking yourself. In a year from now we ll hear the same individual singing the same song and it s going to be even worse than today. Plus I am not talking about investment I am just talking about a roof you can afford. When one loses his job you may be able to keep what you have but when your spouse is sick on top of that you don t think about yourself any more . The real question is what s best for the kids. Buoy Iam glad we are not all brainless like you are, that s all Ihave to say about you.

  • Big Banks in Trouble: Huge Mortgage Write-Downs Seem Inevitable [View article]
Milkweed read Gill s comment, I am behind it 100%. We just walked away of our house and the result is : a rent of 700$ instead of a mortgage payment of 1250$. Lots of houses for rent and cheap .
A smaller home but at least the fridge isn t empty like it was a couple months ago. You can t eat a house and with a family of 5 one must do what s best for his family. I bet you Milkweed lives a free stress life.

  • Compensation Caps Will Drive Away Talent? To Where? [View article]
well said prairiedog. Like one senator said " ...they don t get it, they are idiots...". It takes a revolution, main street against wall street, not governments, to change the culture of our society, driven by greed and avarice.

  • Lesson from Sweden: Aggregator Bank Will Fail [View article]
capitalism in U.S.A is different , here it means greed at its best , here it means poor must stay poor or get poorer and rich must get richer. And all this with the benediction of the government, in Italy they have a perfect name for that MAFIA.

Thank you for your help, any help is appreciated by those who also read and/or answer to the article and the comments.

  • TARP Is Bad for Dividend Investors  [View article]
interesting article, nothing really new by the way, and interesting comments also. The first sentence of JAMAICAN says it all I could not say it better myself. The second sentence of BS DETECTOR is partially right. It s not TARP that s by news for investors but greed because of a lack of regulations or even worse for not carrying out or enforcing the laws and the so few regulations in place. After all capitalism is made for the people in power and the rich people at the expense of the small investors and ,in last ressource, the taxpayers. I wonder how long it s going to last before we all raise to correct this situation. What happened to all those regulators that were in place during this carnage?
They might have resigned , big deal. What happened to those fat CEOs and board of executives that took advantage of the system? What a farce!

  • More Financial Pitfalls Ahead - S&P  [View article]
HMCCLUNG who was the president for the last 8 years? that crisis I agree with you might have started before Bush but what did he do to stop that greed that was going on for the last 8 years? But again I partially agree with you again because I would blame Greeny (Greenspan) first and secondly Bush. What a fiasco, do we need another revolution? What happened to those fat Cats ( CEOs, board of directors, CFOs,...) ?
I bet you they walk freely and they ll have a better Xmas than the rest of us
and wondering what can we do with the taxpayers money. A good example of this behaviour AIG, isn t it?

  • Citi Gets a Good Deal; Ken Lewis Overpaid [View article]
we just found a successor to Warren Buffett , Don Super or Mr Knowsitall. Well if one understands the mechanics of all those desperate moves he/she deserves all our respect.Way too complicated to declare the winner of all this transactions. Easy to declare the losers but the rest is just a guess for now, only time will tell us. Make your bets! Not sure? Buy a few shares of C and BAC if you have some money to spare.

  • How Would Lehman's Liquidation Affect Its Top Holdings? [View article]
all our representatives ,republicans and democrats, are to blame. They seem to be interested in protecting the big institutions only at the expense of the small investors and the taxpayers. That s what we call capitalism at its best ,rich get richer and poor get poorer. We must all pay for the fat cats greed and poor decisions .The stock options are the source of all this mess, get rid of it ,today, period.
