  • Get Ready For 1999 All Over Again [View article]
George, how about oil? It seems most commodities have been hammered but oil keeps rising as of late and it seems hard to blame it all on Egypt. Do you think some of this exodus money has found its way there?

  • Silver Demand Remains Exceptionally Strong [View article]
Hasn't that bubble busted at current price levels or do you see silver going much lower, like say mid teens, in the near to mid future?

I seriously doubt that. As far as I know places like Switzerland , Canada, Singapore / Malaysia etc. have never defaulted on their debt either...

With regards to ammo, doubling it would have been a minimum. I sold some of mine for over 3.5 times what I paid for it... :)

  • Silver ETF Lowest Since August 2012 Amid Commodity Slump [View article]
The new stock market highs being driven by excess liquity it should be no surprise silver is getting no 'help' from the industrial side. Demand just isn't there and with europe sinking farther on a daily basisI would not expect the global economy or the demand for industrial silver to improve anytime soon...

  • Silver: Are We Ready Yet For The Rally To $60+? [View article]
Avi, thanks for another great article. Although I am not a trader I have followed your calls on silver for my long term positions and I have to say silver always seems to follow one of your scenarios. I hope this happens again so I can scoop a lot more of it when it heads under $30 again!

  • Buffett Erred In Buying IBM, Should Have Bought Xerox Or HP [View article]
IBM's management is anything but strong, actually the company is run by clueless bean counters and a great example of how deceiving numbers can be. At the rate they are hemorrhaging skilled personnel and replacing them with cheaper India based resources who exhibit mostly negative productivity I would say IBM is just a few 'early retirement' waves from falling flat on its face.

  • European Elections Cause A Wave Of Fear Across Financial Markets [View article]
Hollande got elected... Big deal... Beyond headlines and political slogans what it really means is that France's always left tilted policies just moved a couple of notches farther left. The bottom line is that France, Europe and their Euro currency are still headed for disaster, possibly at a very slightly faster pace... And that's about it. I would go as far as saying that Sarkozy's commie inspired reform of France's real estate transaction taxes which was implemented back in February will do far more damage to the French economy in the long run than any of Hollande's campaign proposals except maybe for the retirement age rule.

  • Why 'New York Times' Economist Paul Krugman Is Partly Right But Mostly Wrong [View article]
So what you are saying is that it is OK to squander money as long as it is on some ‘supposedly’ worthwhile purpose like education despite a complete absence of results? Sorry but the complete failure of the US education system shows we might as well save the money and leave these idiots on the streets since that is where they belong and always end up anyways.... :)

  • Why 'New York Times' Economist Paul Krugman Is Partly Right But Mostly Wrong [View article]
I would very much disagree with the OP's statement that the US has an " educated populace". In fact the constanly falling level of young people's education [both absolute and relative, especially when compared with other countries that spend far less on education then we do (US is #34 in math / #17 overall...)] is yet another brillant example of the federal and local governments squandering money with no accountability and no or rather 'negative' returns... I am sure that schools principals and other paper pushers who get paid $150K to $250K a year plus pension and benefits to 'produce' a great deal of nothing would disagree... :)
