    US withholds 15% of dividends for Canadian investors - Canada does the same for US investors.. If and when the dividend tax rate rises in the US this will likely to be revised.

    To a Canadian, US dividend is like ordinary income ie taxed at the marginal rate (46% in Ontario). Canadian dividend is taxed at 50% of the marginal rate (23%).
