Very tempting to those with IRA's to go with the ETN, except for the third party risk as a liability of JPM. A consolation might be that the firestorm has swept through and future investment pratices and regulatory oversight would diminish the JPM risk component.

The firm has never generated the warm & fuzzies but just from a cool professional approach the handling was sophomoric in its shortsightedness. Clearly, this transition was delegated without much thought to a truly callow shepherd with little imagination or appreciation for business courtesy.

I'll have to become much more complacent before putting any funds into an ETN. However, since I'm generally the optimistic sort and have marginal retention, that may come to pass in, say, ten years.
