Adelson has stated several times he will spin off the malls "at the right time and price" i do not think it is a big priority or any announcement is pending but it will happen. I believe he will receive many offers.....these are high dollar designer locations and very profitable for the tenants who occupy them. Price will be $10B give or take
Gramercy Capital (GKK +1.2%) bounces from yesterday's post-earnings drubbing which had the mark of investors taking profits following a big run. The earnings call (transcript) (presentation) shows new management doing what it said it would - simplifying the company into a pure net-lease player and slashing expenses. This morning's disclosure of ARCP's $5.7B offer for Cole Credit Property Trust will be of interest. [View news story]

Time for LVS to unleash the beast and do some ripping to the upside....Macau will continue to roll and LVS should continue to grab share with the big lead capacity and no other competitors of any significance coming online anytime soon. Q1 should be a monster. When Adelson finally pulls the trigger and monetizes the mall properties for $10B plus, i think this thing takes off. One of the Most valuable retail property portfolios per square foot on the planet. Thanks for the link to Barron's article :)

LVS should be rocking the house, but hasnt done squat for months and months.........good info from Macau should be welcomed news but doesnt result in much. I think LVS is the best in breed of the sector, but the stock price and its action do not seem to reflect it. looking forward to a better 2013..long LVS
Stock will see a jolt if LVS monitizes the mall properties for about $10B

All the fundamentals for LVS remain in place, yet the stock seems to wander with no clear path forward. I am long LVS but am wondering a loud what the catalyst will be........i dont buy into the bribery thing being this big overhang. Its a blip on the radar screen....even a significant fine would be a minor annoyance on the financials. I realize patience is a virtue, but mine is wearing a little thin on LVS, especially seeing all sectors of the market advance significantly while LVS spins its wheels.
THank you for the coverage and giving me a place to vent.

Saw that.......hope this begins a catalyst for LVS.....its been wandering of late. Q1 numbers should be good but last year in Q1 they posted a world record, so we'll have to wait and see. LVS is down a little today. Fundamental story in tact and i am optimistic, but wish it would get a move on !! long LVS 2014 calls

If history is a guide, the markets may be due for a pullback, according to S&P Capital's Sam Stovall. Since World War II, Stovall says the median advance once the S&P hits its previous high after recovering from a bear market has been just 3%. But despite the ominous warning, there still may be some places to ride it all out. JPMorgan's chief U.S. equities strategist Tom Lee recently came up with 15 stocks that outperformed the S&P 500 in eight of the last 11 pullbacks since 2009: CAG, IBM, DIS, GPC, MMM, FISV, PAYX, PPG, SYY, SIAL, UNP, UTX, PX, L, and XRAY.
