  • Is Tesla Model S Really A Quality Green Car? [View article]
    Every single point is incorrect.

    1. $600 maintenance charge is NOT MANDATORY, this is a flat lie. Maintenance is very minimal

    2. Satisfaction is through the roof. Go and talk to any driver, they can't shut up about how it's the best car they've ever owned or driven

    3. All cars have minor issues. Hondas and Fords spontaneously combust because of things like defective power windows

    4. Totally irrelevant straw-man, way to go

    5. Electricity is ALWAYS cleaner. Model S can be charged 100% from solar. Try that with any other car, dude

  • Why A Profitable $35,000 Tesla Model E Is A Pipe Dream [View article]
Wow, the author of this article doesn't have a clue what he's saying.

The Model E will be made of steel, not aluminium.

A $3,200 profit on a $35,000 car means a gross margin of 10% for the BASE MODEL. Which means gross margins can NEVER be lower than 10%.

That leaves $31,800 to build the car.
    Skateboard: $15,000
    Body: $10,000
    Interior: $6,800

  • Global electric vehicle production on the rise [View news story]
FCVs are absolutely and utterly pointless. The key thing to understand here is that they need a battery ANYWAY. Repeat, FCVs have EV components, they need a battery ANYWAY!
    The choice will be between:
    LEAF-type EV
FCV with LEAF-sized battery, build hydrogen stations, pay for hydrogen
    200-mile EV
Once battery production rises and cost falls, and 200-mile battery costs $6000 and lasts 300,000 miles, there will be NO reason to go FCV.
The sad thing is, Toyota has the manufacturing capacity to build millions upon millions of these inferior FCVs. Even if the next Tesla EV is the best car in the history of mankind, they can only build so many every year..

  • New Models From Honda And Audi Will Consign Tesla And Its Superchargers To A Smaller Niche [View article]
The Audi A7 costs WAY more than the Tesla Model S, after you account for fuel and maintenance costs.

The ~$30k 2017 Honda Accord will compete with the ~$35-40k Tesla Model E, not the Model S.
It will also be WAY more expensive after accounting for fuel and maintenance costs.

    What's wrong with you?

Why is it 3.6k miles. Should be 2800. They put the superchargers in the wrong place.

  • Tesla Brand Is Crown Jewel To Big Automakers [View article]
Yeah at first it was $20-30k, or $25k. Now $35,000 without tax incentives. But it's $35,000 in today's money. In 4 years Elon might decide that means $41,000.

Hopefully Gen 3 will actually see price drops and lower margins over time, unlike the $57k 40kWh Model S which was discontinued.

    This is so funny.

    They're profitable, with high margins.
They have the best car in the world.
They have the safest car in the world.
    They have the Supercharger network.
They have a $35,000 EV in the works.
They have high demand, they don't even spend a single dollar in advertising.

But they're going to fail because SpoiledRottenBrat says so. Alright.

  • Time To Pull The Trigger On A Tesla Trade? [View article]
Uh yeah.. Superchargers are for travelling between cities, not before you "need to get to the client or the kid's soccer game".

If you drive more than 300 miles in a day (nobody does this), don't buy a Tesla car.
