Will Altria Group Burn Out Long Term? [View article]
Altria....smokers will be smokers and the tendency is to grow international. I just bought MO for its dividend (I am close to retirement), its cash flow is great, and the US government just handed MO an almost "oligoply" position in the stuff..(that's what I call a "golden platter" of quasi-protection....fu... its other inventments in liquor, beer, et al.....should smooth out nicely and give MO a long-term "open-door" if things get, or were to get worse! I am sorry I did not buy this one years ago! As someone said...politically incorrect action! But give me the dividends anytime! BTW...there is a Spell checker on here!

Thank you for the information.............. what is your opinion? Any analysis on whether they (or one of them) is/are a good buy at the moment??? Don't leave us "hanging"!

Nice article write-up............BTw, I am trimming my dividend portfolio stocks to those of at least 2.5% and stable or rising dividends, mostly with a "payout" in the 40-60% range. Of course, there are exceptions............

LFL, Lan Chile ("...specialized airport"...???) is a Chilean airlines, and nothing to do with Columbia (this country does not exist!)....maybe COLOMBIA???

Well, it looks more like the two "partners" are begining to "tango" together, though tripping over their moves for now....but who knows, if they go to Argentina, they may get to "tango" much better!
Let's wait and see what happens to Yahoos share price in 2009.
Interesting article...........one thing to remember is that "up north", i.e. Canada, we have one of the largest reservoirs of oil in the world...some easy to extract and others "oil-sands' not so easy....so maybe US will end up paying more for secure oil/gas from Canada and then Canada can turn around and buy up US firms with their US$...chinese style!
Chevron: Currently Cheap and a Possible Winner In an Economic Turnaround [View article]
Nicely written up. I also believe CVX and the US economy should start a slow growth process in late 2009.........CVX should be a winner for those who are patient.
I can't believe all those investors throwing money at TIPS, and other Treasury investments at 0%, when you can own aprime company such as CVX, and while you wait they pay out a nice dividend!
I am also an SFL & VLCCF holder......however, we need to take into consideration that there are other countries around the world that still need supplies shipped-in, and while tanker rates will definitely be lower for the coming 2009 period, I believe that once the world turns around, tanker etc,. rates will start their upward movement.
when, well I dont know, but end-2009/early 2010 would be my "guess". In the meantime I will hold share and enjoy the "sadly-lower" dividend period!
