Canadian Royalty Trusts Will Never Return to Their Former Glory

There are many kinds of Canadian Royalty Trusts, but the focus here has been on oil and gas royalty trusts.
There are lots of uncertainties ahead (both political and economic). Five years from now (and if you do not have a medium term or longer focus, why on earth would you buy these things?) both context and structure may change considerably both politically and economically.
What I did was sell half of my trusts at a moment when these had declined much less than XEG (TSX), a Canadian index, and put the money into XEG.
Given the current strength of the U.S. dollar against the Canadian dollar, XEG might be worth a look for those with a medium term focus.
