  • Schwab, E*Trade: Monthly Activity Comparison and the Industry Average [View article]
I've been an E-trade member for many years, and the most money I"ve made in one year is a bit over $100,000. Now I"m a small trader and always have been. I've stuck by E-Trade through this whole thing and I'll make another $100,000. thanks to those guys shouting, "The sky is falling, the sky is falling". Thanks! I'm a guy who never made over $28,000. in a year in his working life. I only became rich when I retired, AND, when I became a member of E-Trade. To the working staff of E-Trade, ignore the guy who says ya'll are incompetent, surely he's only trying to discourage investors until he can buy more shares. I appreciate each of you and the many times ya'll have bought shares for me cheaper then I had bid to pay. The real people appreciate ya'll. God bless you all, Gary.

  • Ambac: Dialing for Dollars [View article]
I know anyone who'd read what I think will say I"m really stupid. OK, I can live with that. But I will let time judge my actions. I'm ignoring all this bad news and all these negative articles, the whole mess. I have one theory, and to me it's the only one that matters. I'm completely invested and have put my money where my mouth is. I'll either be rich at the end of the year, or I'll be in the same position as I was when the year began. My theory: I believe this is all a farce, started by Democrats, hoping to get their two, (jokes) runners for the presidency elected. The worse they can make the market sound, the more they can manipulate the market to go down, the more negative their articles are, the more they think they can make the American people think 'The Sky is Falling', and their hope is, to get Hillary or Barak elected in the highest office in the world. What a joke, and the sad thing is, if everything they say was true, if it was the worst economy in the history, even then, even that would not get those two runners elected. I'm neither Republican or Democrat, but I"ve always voted for the one I think would be best for the office. No, the one who'd be best for the United States. In all the years I"ve voted, the only time I've missed was Bill Clinton, as he was elected and it appeared he did a great job. However humiliating himself and his wife and the office itself. But, I made more money that year then ever, or during his term. To you Democrats, American's will not elect Hillary, or Barak for the Presidency. It won't happen, no matter how much money you invest to make President Bush look bad, no matter how many nasty words you write. The thing you Democrats forget, or have misjudged is, the American people are not as stupid as you think. As one politician once said, "It doesn't matter what you believe, it doesn't matter what you think, all you have to say is, I'm going to make a CHANGE in America. Change is what the American people want, I"m for Change, Change, Change, Change." By the way, he lost and I had to laugh at his stupidity. THE AMERICAN PEOPLE ARE NOT AS STUPID AS YOU THINK THEY ARE, remember I said that. My feelings are Democrats are investing a lot to keep the market down. They have a lot, and just like Hillary and Baca are spending millions, (which by the way is defeating your purpose), to say, CHANGE, CHANGE, CHANGE! Here's what is important, and the Un-American Democrats haven't figured it out, we've fought a war in Irag, so many have died, now (despite the claims of the Democrats), the war is a success. But that is not the important thing. The important thing is we have not fought this war on American soil. It happened in another country, thank God, American men have spilled, no, that's the wrong word, they've given their blood so that you and I can vote and live the American dream. (Democrats ignore this.) The last time I heard a suicide bombing took place in Irag, it was two young women from a mentally ill institution. Why them? Why, because the others fanatics are dead. So many of the mislead suicide bombers have died. Are you not glad they died in Irag rather then on American soil? I wish I could take a magic wand and bounce it off the top of every Democrat head and say, 'See without the blind eyes of Democratic party system'. It's a word that describes a man or woman who is willing to sacrifice America or God for a party. The sad thing is if the tide was turned, Republicans would do the same thing. So, for your party you Democrats destroy all the American economy you can. Try to make President Bush look bad, but as he said, "I'll let history be my judge".l May God forgive you who step on the dead bodies of American soldier's who have GIVEN their blood, just like American soldiers died on the beaches of Normandy, GIVING their blood for freedom. Your freedom. Too bad you can't see this before you write your negative articles, beat down stocks and do all you can to harm the American way. And for what, to elect Hillary or Boca, which neither can see this war was going to happen, but their way it'd have happened on American soil. It will come, they will eventually get a bomb, and get it over here, and we'll all see then. We'll all pay the price for your party system I don't have the time to write it all as to how the words of the Star Bangle Banner was written, but when the British were trying to blow the American flag down from the wall, but after a full all night battle of cannon fire from ships, all night, the flag they were attempting to blow completely away, yet after a full night of cannon fire the day proved the flag was still standing. When the writer of the song went to the wall he saw the flag was no longer fastened to the walls, but was only held up by the bodies of the patriots who had held it in place until they died, and then another took his turn to hold the flag, one after another until the sun rose, and the flag was still flying. Where are those patriots now, where are the men and women who put nothing, not even their lives before freedom, before America. Where have all the patriots gone?

  • The Real Risk: Ambac Loses its AAA Rating [View article]
I"m not real familiar with the market business, but in an article written by Jim Cramer about two weeks ago he stated: "I pick AMBAC as the stock of the year in 2008". Does this mean he thinks it is a good opportunity for investors to take a risk, small risk according to the article, and make some really good profits for 2008? I noticed the high in the past 52 weeks for AMBAC was $96. (Give or take) If AMBAC does turn out to be the stock of the year in 2008, and it has a potential of $50. to $75./share, then instead of running and screaming, "The Sky is Falling", investors should take some of the money they have put into their old socks, baby powered it and buy as many AMBAC shares as they could risk losing on a small risk investment. I"ve seen people bet $1,000. on a horse that paid 2 to 1 odds, and not bat an eye when that old horse came in last. If AMBAC got up to it's old price, then it'd pay almost 10 to 1, and if it just gets to half it's value before the fall, then it's 5 to 1 to win big. Like the article stated, if AMBAC fails, then the USA will likely fall to. I don't think Uncle Sam will let that happen. Tomorrow I'll scrape up some pennies and try to buy 1,000 shares of AMBAC at $12./share. Gee, I stand a chance of making $48,000. on that $12,000. investment. We poor guys who can't buy a million shares at one time don't get a chance to make $48,000. in one year, not very often. Considering Uncle Sam is on my side, I think it's a little risk, but a little risk well worth taking. Mr. Cramer I hope you are right by picking AMBAC to be stock of the year, 2008. I'll know around Christmas time this year. The skys not falling and a lot of people are going to make a lot of money off Ambac. Captain Gary

  • FGIC Split: Let the Lawsuits Begin II [View article]
I'm confused, I don't understand. Could someone explain this Ambac, MBIA thing to me in a simple, say, 10th. grade explanation. I read an article by a guy called Cramer, Jim I think, and he said the stock he picked to be stock of the year in 2008, is Ambac. About a week later I read another article by him in which he stated if he owned Ambac, MBIA, and a couple of more companies, (he wrote), if I owned them today I'd sell them and go fishing. Now, he's an analyst isn't he? I know he writes an article, or articles. Did I misunderstand something he wrote, did he say one week that Ambac would in his opinion be the stock of the year in 2008, and then a week later did he write if he owned them he'd sell them? Please, I'm confused. If the business world is as confused as Mr. Cramer, (that is, if I understood the words coming out of his typewriter), then I can understand why things are in such a mess. I'm only thankful that I ignored his advice, and I bought a little company that cost me .31 cents a share, and I did buy a bunch. It was TTGLE, and a week later, well Monday, or day before yesterday it touched .84 cents a share. Hee,hee, I think I figured it out. Buy a stock that nobody knows nothing about, and that no analyst writes a word about it. When the analyst and the writers and all the others get involved with a company, a person doesn't know who/what to believe. Yes, I sold and did very well.
I can't help but laugh. I swear! I've been saying for years ignore the analyst, people like that Bahailia who is an analyst for Citigroup. He stated Etrade would have a high of around $4.50 for the year, and that very day I think, I sold shares of Etrade for right at $5.00/sh. I've forgotten the exact amounts, but you know, I don't think it's figuring out which analyst is right, but it's figuring out which ones are honest and who is not being paid to write bad things about good companies. I may be stupid, but I'm the one whose made over 100% profit for 2008 already.
Mr. Cramer, I appreciate your articles I get, but you did confuse me with that change of pace. Of course, you might have been making a joke meaning, the market is such a mess you'd rather sell everything and go fishing. Many people who read these articles don't think with a business mind, therefore, sometimes it's hard to understand what point is trying to be made. Just out of curiosity, in very simple terms, will Ambac be a stock to buy in 2008, or not. Thank you. Gary

I have no respect for Bahalia, but I do appreciate your opinions Mr. Cramer. Bahalia was so obvious that he was trying to damage Etrade, that it really irritated me to see him hurt a lot of people like me who depend on opinions of (hopefully), honest men.

  • Read This Before Buying E*Trade [View article]
I haven't read these comments and reports in a week or so. Actually, I bought another stock for the first time in about 10 years. I've made profits buying ET for the past 10 years and now I'm losing a bit on one of the ones I just bought on a spur. BUT, I appreciate all you folks who answered his article. Especially the one who asked if he was with Citigroup. I've vowed never, no never to do anything that in any way involved Citigroup. They are no longer in my vocabulary. That guy Bhailia, or however it's spelled, when I read his articles I thought, "What a jerk". Then I marked Citigroup. I stated then that I will always do exactly the opposite of what Bhailia says to do. I did right after that and made a bunch, for me a bunch. Now, what I'd like to know, is the guy who wrote this article connected in any way to Citigroup???? If so, I"m sorry for wasting my time on his trash. Anything connected to Citigroup is trash, whether it's the writer or the writers opinion. Now, is he connected in any way to Citigroup. I don't know all those terms used, 'DD', and others, for I'm not educated in business. However, I am one of those loyal customers of ETrade. I only know what I've experienced in the stock market. I've found that when they run around squeeling, 'The Sky is Falling', it's mostly an over statement. If these analyst say it's going to last 3 years, it's only going to last a few months. I've made thousands of dollars by not listening to analyst, or doing the opposite of what they say. What really irritates me is that these analyst, (due to being partial, paid liars or just ignorant), write these articles that are lies or ignorant statements, and some poor dumb guy like me who hasn't been in the market long enough to understand that there are some real phonies, or jerks who write articles like this because they want to help their failing company like Citigroup, or because they just like to argue and show an opinion so different he/she's bound to get an argument by intelligent people who know better. But, all it does is cause some poor guy or gal who is trying to invest and make a few dollars, just a few, and those people in a sincere effort to do what seems best, read and believe the article and sell their shares even though it causes them to lose their money. I appreciate you folks who know what you're talking about, listen, I appreciate you for commenting on this man's article and showing by your statements he didn't do his job professionally. A man who was a Democrat once told me, "Gary, I'd vote for a jack ass if it ran on the Democrat ticket". I'm neither Democrat nor Republican, but I stand by this, "A man who'd vote for a party, and not for America is a fool". I prefer the word, 'Traitor'. Well, in the same sense, a man who'd mislead good folks by writing words or opinions that mislead or LIE, he/she is a traitor to the human race. That really P-----S me off. Captain Gary

  • Citi Analyst on Ambac Got It Way Wrong [View article]
I read this article and for one reason mainly. It mentioned Citigroup, and their analyst. I tell you, Citigroup is as bad a company as I've ever seen. This shows what I mean, this article. They are recommending a buy, and it's going down like crazy. Once it hit a low, well, logically then it could be a buy, and many people bought at a low and made a fortune. I suppose Citi had a sell on it at that point. It seems so likely Citi Analyst are not thinking of the buyers and sellers of these companies, but are trying to manipulate stocks by telling people to do the opposite of what they should do. Why? I suppose they are manipulating the stocks by giving bad analyst report to enable themselves to profit on these companies. Shame on them. Maybe this is not written very well, but I've done the opposite of what Citi has said to do and I've made a lot of money by so doing. When this is all over, I hope people remember Citigroup's clumsy efforts to manipulate stocks. When Citi analyst said to sell Etrade, I watched and bought doing opposite their advice. I bought about $37,000. worth of ETrade using my margin, and made over $13,000. in less then a month. I did this while, 'Bullwinkle', Bahalia, their inapt analyst was saying to sell ETrade for it was going bankrupt. Thanks Bullwinkle, that's almost exactly what I make a year on Social Security. Keep looking at your crystal ball and telling me what to do, so I can do just the opposite. My warning, stay away from Citigroup, as any company so wrong, well, I'd hate to have anything to do with them. Capt.

  • Jim Cramer's Mad Money In-Depth, 2/6/08: Cramer Likes Mike [View article]
I'd like to get more info on ABK, and TTGLE. So far for this year I have made 30% on my original investment. That's pretty for someone who doesn't know what he's doing. I already get Jim Cramer's report and would like to know his thoughts on the two stocks listed. I read his report on ABK being the stock pick of the year, 2008, and that has been a week or so ago. I'd like to know if he's still thinking that way for I'm prepared to put my entire profit and original investment into it. I'm confused about something though. We just went through a major correction where ABK was at $8. something. The correction was over and it went up to over $15., and now there is another correction and it's down to $10.95. My question is simple, are people completely stupid, or is this a thing where brokers are selling the peoples stocks enable to make all those commissions. I mean, I heard a broker on TV say, "The people want to sell, and that's what we're doing". He had this silly grin on his face when he said that. Well, do the people know the brokers are selling their stocks over and over, and buying the shares back over and over. I made 30% profit by buying ET and selling it as the brokers came out saying, The sky is falling, sell, sell, sell. Then a couple of days later they were saying, the market is over it's correction and you need to buy, buy, buy. Come on, (whoever I'm writing this to). I am unlearned as to the stock market, but I learned watching a drunk man and woman at a gambling casino when I was 18, a long time ago. I learned, bet with these two people who are pretending to be drunk and I'll win. (It was so obvious they were setting up the table for the suckers). I bet for about 5 minutes following their bet, and I won $10.

  • I'm Encouraged by Citi's Branch Closures [View article]
This is a note for Citi to consider. Your problems have just begun, as emails are started and hundreds of thousands of concerned share holders will be waiting to see what legal considerations they have in Citigroups smear campaign against Etrade. Obviously Citigroup is trying everything to get attention off themselves and a bad performance, and smear another competitor with false analysis findings. Besides the fact your smear campaign has not worked against Etrade, but you have opened yourself up to very serious charges to answer in the courts. Citigroup, you picked a very bad time to irritate over 100,000 angry share holders who are tired of your analyst reports attempting to discourage your readers to use Etrade. Let me say that any company that has to use such underhanded methods to try to survive, most people would avoid completely. I would not enter the door of Citigroup, or any company that will deal untruthfully. For 10 years I have dealt with Etrade, not only as a banking customer but also as a share holder in the company. I have never been disappointed in the service of ETrade, or the accuracy of all my records. For that reason a nation wide campaign has been started against Citigroup. Your efforts to smear a competitor were in vain, but the results will soon be seen in your accounts. Please, ask your analyst, Bahaila, and I probably misspelled his name, please tell him he can stop now. His latest nasty report about Etrade stated, "I think Etrade's 2008 high for the year will be $3.50." You dork, either you are stupid, a liar, or you're just trying to harm, (manipulate), Etrade to benefit, yourself, or Citigroup. How do I know this, I sold 4200 shares of Etrade Friday, Jan. 25, 2008, for $4.05 in the after hours market. About ten minutes earlier I sold 4000 shares of ETrade at $3.92. I'm asking everyone who reads this message and the following material circulated through the US, to beware the underhanded policies of Citigroup, and think very seriously before buying Citigroup stock. Men much wiser then I have already started legal actions against Citigroup. Captain Gary

  • E*Trade Will Recover  [View article]
I really appreciated your article. It said what I've been thinking for a long time. I've owned stock in Etrade on different occasions for many years. I started doing the stock market paying $200. to $500. a trade, each way, and now, $5. is so good. I'd pay more just because they are far better then any other brokerage, and I have looked. I'm glad to hear the positive thoughts of others as I was beginning to think I was the only one who appreciated ETrade. I've day traded for about 6 or 7 years and done good for a man with no knowledge of the market. But I've decided to hold on the the shares of ET that I now have, long term. Gee, I, like one of the other writers, bought ET at $2.20, and some at $2.40. I feel like a thief. I already could have made a $10,000. to $15,000. profit in what, a couple of weeks. But for the first time in years I"m going to hold ET until years end. I will do well.
Advice for Ameritrade, or any other brokerage who might be thinking of buying out ETrade. If you do, don't change Etrade to your standards, but change your standards to the Etrade platform. If you do that, you will keep many satisfied Etrade customers. Say if Ameritrade were to buy out ETrade, if you changed your Ameritrade platform to the Etrade platform, then you'd have Ameritrade stock traders who will be very happy. I looked into Ameritrade a long time ago, and I just didn't like it. I forget now what bothered me most, but after using Etrade for all these years, I'd be hard put to go to a system that was, (for the sake of a better word), cheap. For me, I'd rather see ETrade buy out Ameritrade, even though the stock value would drop, in the short run, but the Ameritrade customers would be so happy they'd never leave or search for another brokerage. I honestly can say, customers of Ameritrade could, (example), get out of their Ford Edsel, and enjoy the ride of a BMW.
Thank you folks for letting me see the other side of Etrade customers opinions. I'm really glad to see there are others who feel as I feel. I wondered if all the negative comments were coming from people who had been hurt on that bad month, and for ya'll, I'm really sorry. But you took a bad loss and it's happened to many people in the market now. It's happened before and people jumped out of windows. Instead of scratching the wound, buy some Etrade now at $2.85 or $2.90, and give it a year. If you were/are an Etrade customer then you know they are the only brokerage you want to trade with. I'm sorry you were hurt, but don't let that cause you to lose an opportunity by making another mistake. In two months you'll not see Etrade at $2. or $3. prices ever again. Thank you for this opportunity to express my thoughts about Etrade. A very satisfied past, present and future customer of Etrade.
