  • Annaly beats, sets buyback, to invest in non-agency MBS [View news story]
I just hope this buy back program isn't some scam to buy back the shares the insiders have accumulated and thus used to allow them to sell out of their purchases without having the stock price tank.

Given all the shares I hear people brag the insiders have purchased it wouldn't surprise me if that is all this is so as to allow them to get out of their investments in NLY at decent prices.

  • A Peek Under The Hood Of The New O'Leary Dividend ETF [View article]
    Sonny you think?

I was wondering exactly what stocks make this one up but after reading what a large expense ratio they are charging given the passive nature of simply buying and forever holding a bunch of dividend paying stocks according to the article 142 of them it would be likely cheaper and better to buy the low cost SP500 SPY shares rather than make this guy wealthier.

  • Denahan out as Annaly Capital CEO [View news story]
NLY isn't about to repurchase any of the shares of NLY. The stock has been all down hill since Mike died. I hope they don't follow or adhere to anything she recommends and or says as under her tenure as CEO the company suffered while she pocketed huge salaries and has made a king's fortune with her ownership of the company that controls the management of NLY's paper all converted from shareholders to management that has managed to skirt disclosure rules by double dipping as also external management.

  • Annaly Capital Management And The Fake Discount To Book [View article]
The book value of these companies are always sketchy at best and a poor gauge to determine whether the price is overvalued or undervalued.

  • Annaly Capital Is A Steal At $9 [View article]
The crazy amount of money that this company actually pays it's CEO's and CFO's and other guys and gals who double dip as both internal as well as external management makes it very easy and affordable to inside buy even if the investment doesn't make sense.

Meanwhile for us ordinary everyday investors who aren't fortunate enough to be a part of the privatized separate company that makes bank regardless of whether the decisions are helpful or harmful all the while still drawing millions of dollars as extremely well paid internal corporate big wigs is truly remarkable and the crazy part is that the shareholders paid for and were robbed by the management when they tapped dance their way into figuring out yet another way to make theirs regardless of how shareholders or share price goes.

  • Judge throws out shareholder lawsuit over recall [View news story]
When was the last time you heard of a CEO going to jail or an auto executive other than the new communications director at Toyota who tried to sneak some Oxy pain killers into Japan. Other than personal criminal activity it seems corporate crimes are tolerated so long as the proper payments get made.

While the markets in general have been enjoying historic bull runs GM lingers at or below it's IPO price depending on whether you consider the start being 33 or 35.

Had you got in pre IPO it was 33 but had you bought at or near the open or close you are well under water from a 35 start.

How do I know? I was dumb enough to actually believe GM had changed and I got some new GM only to have it do nothing for me for close to two years I barely broke even on this joke.

  • Orchid Island Capital Plummets, One Analyst Predicted It [View article]
Colorado not to speak poorly but Bimini was like the sole original angel investor in Orchid and they own a lot more than just some shares. Bimini is solely dependent on Orchid for $$$$ in dividends and revenue performance as well as fees collected for managing the borrow short term and lend long term. Bimini has nothing else going of any material importance but don't trust me ask them for yourselves and read the prospectus.

  • Orchid Island Capital Plummets, One Analyst Predicted It [View article]
Orchid and Bimini are essentially the same entity. It would make very little sense to be bullish and bearish as 100% of Binimi's revenues and fate rests in how they manage Orchid. Broken clock being right at best.

  • GM rolling along with Bolt development [View news story]
Maybe they could steal from the successful "That's not a Buick Campaign."
Work to distance themselves from the failure of the volt.
However with how brain dead and internet dependent the new kids are becoming the major selling point won't be how dependable or sexy the ride, but will be how fast and reliable the in vehicle internet will be.
Wording like 5G or 6G or that new 5GHZ wifi speed will trump will my ride get me to my next destination if not the fancy internet will allow you to telecommute or get to work in cyber space.

  • Carl Icahn sells off remaining Netflix position [View news story]
Carl sold because someone with such a large position as he has needs positive event circumstances in order to unload said large position without taking a bath in doing so. I'm sure he still likes Netflix but likes taking a profit even more.

  • Why Google Shouldn't Buy Twitter [View article]
A bunch of pie in the sky folks here thinking an one hundred and forty character text app that people try and then discard unless they are attention drama queens or have to know what some other person is doing at this very moment is somehow worth several tens of billions of dollars despite not ever being profitable. One word "wow".

  • Orchid Island Capital: An Introduction To The 'Best Of Breed' [View article]
BMNM only source of revenue is from the dividends and management fees from Orchid. I can't see how one can be more bullish when in essence if Orchid catches a cold Bimini Management will catch a flu if not worse. Anyone know when they'll increase their management fees?

  • Annaly Capital Management declares $0.30 dividend [View news story]
It's amazing what people are willing to accept as in the way of lower standards. Sadly the once upon a time mighty Annaly has fallen and is having one heck of a time even trying to bother to attempt to get at least back to half of what it once use to pay out on a regular basis.
The only thing that hasn't changed is the ridiculous amount of money the management pays itself and the separate company structure in which management are both internal as well as external players.
