  • Unemployment: It's Even Worse than You Think [View article]
Great article and let me ask you a quick question.

How do you interpret the fact that the “official” release actually shows that we went over the 10% high water mark?

I didn’t believe that this would ever be released much less an admission of such and that in itself told me that the containment of the real numbers is getting a bit harder than previously thought.

  • While Goldman CEO Lloyd Blankfein understands that "people are pissed off" with bankers, he says everybody should be happy: "Companies are looking to grow again and raise money. That's where we come in. The financial system may have led us into the crisis but it will lead us out."  [View news story]
If you needed any confirmation about certain aspects and players within our system being out of touch then you just received it.

  • Bank Failures: 115 and Counting [View article]
This chart really surprised and concerns me.

I can’t believe that the discussion of extending home buyer credits and supporting of the home building industry still takes place when solidifying our current market environment seems to be failing and is in serious need of a “rethink” on recovery steps.

  • Gold Stocks Slide as USD Index Strengthens – Should You Be Concerned? [View article]
Nice data, I believe that the U.S. dollar strength/weakness is going to be the key for not only precious metals markets but the energy markets as well.

Did you notice the run in COP over the last two weeks? I missed it but I still like COP and will see where they stand over the next several sessions.

I’m almost positive that I read something about California, Nevada, Arizona, and Florida having something to do with housing bubbles?

  • Gold: A Bubble Brewing? [View article]
The U.S. dollar and how this is handled politically should be a good indicator of where to be positioned with respect to Gold going forward. It’s tough to follow at times but should be well worth the effort in the end.

  • Inflation's Leading Edge Is Now Oil [View article]
I think this Oil run is absolutely amazing this year with everything considered and is probably the single biggest indicator of how much trouble the U.S. dollar is in at the moment.
