Transition to an Electric Economy

Nuclear energy isnt the way, although it should be a part of our energy grid. Too much & we will all be glowing green 50 years down the road in nuclear waste. As an engineer, i am confident that with more R&D and colaboration between everyone, there will better, cleaner & more efficient technologies.

Solar technologies, creative Thermodynamics & wind power TOGETHER will be a massive solution to this epidemic. 8500sq miles, thats 100miles by 100miles!!!!!!!!, im sure somewhere in arizona, utah and texas the USA could find a place to lay down that many solar panels, with zero cost of fuel, i dont understand how electric providers havent jumped on this yet. as a step in the right direction for combustion engines, the coates engine, coatesengine.com or the external combustion cyclone engine, www.cyclonepower.com/i... , provide much greater efficency and much lower carbon and NOx emission. Also check out Tesla Motors, a full electric car, 0-60 in 4 seconds with a 200mile range using $3 worth of electricity!!!!

Given the huge push for wind power (as well as other energies harvested from mother nature) i do believe we should be cautious, energy is not created, its converted. if you extract energy from the environment, there is going to be a change somewhere yet to be seen. For example, changing the convection patterns of the wind throughout the world may change many environments (such as wind turbine extract wind energy from nature and convert it to electrical energy). All im getting at is not to rely on only one technology, a balanced spread is much better. Its the equivalent to stopping the burning of oil and producing all of our energy by coal because its cheaper.

Better many technologies will not only produce lower cost electricity & lower emissions, but this push will create well needed jobs as well. its a win-win.
