Imagine, if the US would pay to install $700,000,000,000 worth of connected solar PV and then just charge the users the cost of generating the electricity (essentially zero) plus as adder of $.06-.10/kwh to pay off the capital investment (who cares when, just as any of our other foreign "loans", etc.). What a blessing and first BIG start that would be on getting us off of gas and coal power generation. And then with the next $700 billion, they could electrify the railroads and interstate highways and push the new hybrids - just think what a dent that would make in our 21 bbd of crude. Take it near zero. Addict cured.
