Two Stocks With No Debt and Low Price to Cash Flow
Good thought. I liked the story of GRMN, so I looked at its chart, compared to S&P500. Tracks nicely and has performed worse. In my book, it's candidate for shorting, not buying.

I am buying GAAEX - a no-load mutual fund. Like the entire sector, it did great in 2007, since tanked, but is up the past 90 days. It has done better than PBW over the last 3 months.

      Consumer Spendables Indicator
I was struck by theis NYTimes article and the same business front page article on unemployment. What struck me was that it, along with many other indicators, marked a turning point in reporting. In the past month the tone of the business/media has changed. This marks a signficant "mood" inflection point. It felt the same as the Iraq reporting - most stories were upbeat and reported with little skepticism until a turnjing point after which there was great negativity and unearthing of facts. The process seems to be the same. What impressed me most about Biderman was hiis tapping into existing data and using it to be a better indicator of the future. I find most real estate reporting to be severely lagging indicators; looking informally at other indicators it is clear to me that the coming popping and oozing of the commercial bubble will rival or exceed the residential crash in impact.

Why I'm Buying DR Horton as a Trade
You are bold. We see things pretty much the same. Rather than take that risk, I've put a portion into high-dividend (8-11%) telecom stocks and AYR. I remain uncertain about the latter.
