While I don't have enough thoughts on the short term lookout, I believe the long term trend is towards growing ARPU - the broadband service is so commoditized and competitive that there is hardly any chance of growing the ARPU - while there are tremendous opportunities in growing ARPU for wireless vendors - increase data plan penetration, provide cell modems for laptops, netbooks, wireless photo frames, kindle type devices etc., SMS and other services ... are similar things to increase broadband ARPU on the horizon? Regarding video - the cable companies are already charging arm and a leg for video services, DVR etc. hard to see them being able to grow on top of that ...

I think that the market growth of RIMM and AAPL is almost priced in ... only new phones or newer markets shall give an earnings boost - while cell phone companies - AT&T, Sprint and Verizon have the most to gain - as average people who don't have BBery or IPhone - are also upgrading to data plans ... I think sprint might be the underdog with the most to gain ... and Palm Pre comes out as well. The one time phone sales gain vs. the increase in ARPU benefit are quite different. The AAPL netbook might be something to get a rivarly with Kindle and sell more content through itunes ... just speculation though.
But how do you explain the recent drop in prices - surely it has been a very steep drop. I am long on HP and just puzzled why the stock took a beating like this ...
