      Moody’s Gone Wild
I agree. Let's stick to the fundamentals. Not that we need to be humorless, but I don't want to have to wade through nonsense to get to investment ideas.

      Apple's iPhone: Home Court Advantage
infestation, sane_man...what can I say that hasn't already been said before? if you spent more time looking at apple's numbers and less time trying to work out the bugs on your Microsoft Visa install, you'd cover your shorts, buy an iPhone, and join the rest of us happy apple shareholders (and users).

On a less rhetorical note: aside from iPhones in India (which I honestly can't comment as I don't have the credentials to do so) we are going to be seeing a shift towards macs in the workplace...all without apple even looking up from their consumer-focused spreadsheets. Read all about it here: www.businessweek.com/m...

I love Steve Jobs. We would be living in a horrible PC-dominated world without Macs. The man is truly an entrepreneurial genius.

      Make Macs, not War!

Margin Concerns Make LDK Solar Vulnerable to Profit Taking
I agree. The comments here are more informative than the article. I had been looking at LDK this evening and I couldn't quite understand why it is sitting at such a low SP. Then I stumbled upon this article.

Thank you everyone for posting such informed analyses. It only corroborates what I had already discovered: LDK is undervalued. Yes, the solar sector is quite volatile. But for me, it's time to buy this stock.

Analyst consensus has EPS growing at 85% a year for the next five years
      (finance.yahoo.com/q/ae...).

Forward PE (through Dec 31, 2009) is estimated at less than 10.
      (finance.yahoo.com/q/ks...)

      5-year PEG is estimated at .25 (!!!).
      (finance.yahoo.com/q/ks...(

I ran a simple DCF calculator and came up with an SP of north of $210.00.
And yes, I know this calculator is a bit Fisher-Price, but it gives a rough idea of value.

      Good luck everyone.

Potash's New Hit Highlights Fertilizer's Risks
TraderMark, I appreciate your thoughtful analysis. I had been waiting for over a month for a dip to buy into this sector. I got my toes wet today. My general understanding of this sector is that the forward P/E's of many of these companies (POT, MOS, CF, etc.) are still rather modest given the price-hedging of their product to their buyers over the next year. Is this a correct assessment?

It will be interesting to see if this is another dip which springboards us higher (like Mid-March) or if the downturn will be more severe.

Either way, I'm prepared. If the sector falls further, I'll purchase more. If it goes up, I'll enjoy my modest gains.

      $200 Oil, $2000 Gold?
Sadly, most Americans probably can't afford $500/month for this portfolio. They're too busy paying down the debt on their credit cards or scraping together enough money to keep their mortgage intact.

Maybe the SA audience is a bit more affluent.

Getting Ready for Apple's Q2 Earnings
Here in NYC you can't get on a subway without it seeming like half the riders are listening to iPods/iPhones.

However, I got burned buying Apple stock before the last earning's call...so I'm holding off.

Also, this economy is truly THE WORST. Stock portfolio is waaaay down. So who knows what's going to happen to AAPL.

Somewhat off-topic so please forgive: Meanwhile, Bush says lets keep plowing billions into Iraq. Why, as a tax payer, am I paying for this idiocy? Or I guess I should say, why will my grandchildren be paying for this nonsense? Vote Democratic in November.

The Oversold U.S. Market Gets Even More Oversold
I'm sorry, but a lot of these comments posted here are ill-informed. The writer in question never promised to provide a comprehensive overview of market trends. He states at the beginning that he is only going to focus on the MACD.

The posters here need to be less judgmental and more rational. People who rant and complain have no business making comments on market analyses - even if they feel the article in question is wrongheaded.

Say something useful or don't post. Or at least have the courage to post your name when slandering other writers' research.

      Otherwise your opinion is worthless.
