Julian Robertson: Some Buying, but Bearish on the Economy [View article]
It astonishes me that Republicans continue to stand on their rooftops shouting about impending Obama "socialism" when it's the Republicans who have ushered in the sweeping "Marxist" reforms we are seeing in the headlines every day. And why? Because their brand of unfettered capitalism literally broke the bank.
I wish Freud were alive, he'd appropriately diagnose the situation as wholesale "projection" with an unhealthy amount of "cognitive dissonance."
The Republicans blew up the system...and they are unwilling to take the blame.
Pretty typical for the Republicans, I'd say. And it's the reason the party is going down in flames in three weeks.
I agree. In fact, I think I'm going to email Apple about this (not that it will do any good). Flash is as integral to the Web as HTML. Why Flash wasn't integrated into even iPhone 1.0 was beyond me. And it's still not here for the latest iPhone? This really sucks (though I still love Apple and Steve Jobs).

I love Steve Jobs. We would be living in a horrible PC-dominated world without Macs. The man is truly an entrepreneurial genius.

Here in NYC you can't get on a subway without it seeming like half the riders are listening to iPods/iPhones.
However, I got burned buying Apple stock before the last earning's call...so I'm holding off.
Also, this economy is truly THE WORST. Stock portfolio is waaaay down. So who knows what's going to happen to AAPL.
Somewhat off-topic so please forgive: Meanwhile, Bush says lets keep plowing billions into Iraq. Why, as a tax payer, am I paying for this idiocy? Or I guess I should say, why will my grandchildren be paying for this nonsense? Vote Democratic in November.
