  • My results since June 4th, 2010

In the first results box below we see 5 colums
% gain (-loss), Top 2 Longs, Top 2 Take Profits, % gain (-loss)for Profits, Date

This is a side-by-side view showing holding my picks into the close vs. my choosing to take profits.  The chart below shows how a hypothetical $10,000 initial amount would have done under my stock picks.  The red line (series 1) shows my results from taking profits, the blue line (series 2) show holding my picks until the close.

In the final box below you find my yield since inception, as of yesturday night (9/23).   We can see that the S&P has barely moved since 6/4, and I have increased both of my portfolio's respectively, 29%, and 35%.  What I have learned so far from choosing stocks on a daily basis is that I'm not necessarily better off choosing when to take profits over holding stocks into the close.  Turns out on a DAILY basis, it's hard for me to beat myself.  And that is what (+/-) Real Longs Shows you (the percentage amount that I'm beating my own Top 2 Picks by choosing to take profits as opposed to holding into the close).

  • Results for Friday
DTG ruined the trading day, fortunately AMZN almost made us all the money back....I was not expecting  to see that a lower bid of $50.25 by Hertz below the market price of DTG $52.

To show my credentials I will be posting my results from June 4th showing you how I've performed beginning with $10,000 picking 2 stocks a day.  There will be a portfolio showing how I would have done holding stocks into the close, and how I've done when I decided to take profits (losses).

  • Todays Results for Thursday

Although we suffered a net loss of -.215%, we beat the S&P (-.83%) by .615% and thats good.

ED was a low beta name which did not perform as well as I had planned.  ALXN received a downgrade this morning which prompted me to take profits asap.
