  • A Look at China's Top Five ADRs by Market Cap [View article]
    Great stuff David,
I own LFC and CHL (China Mobile).
LFC seems to be the best China play because it's growth is unrelated to macro conditions or price of raw materials.
What's happening in China is massive growth of the middle class and no matter how they make their money - those people are saving it with China life, which has virtually no competition.
Check out my portfolio for other holdings.
    Cheers,
    guliamo.

  • Aircastle: Current Share Price Hard to Swallow [View article]
I'm with you on AYR.. this looks to be a good growth story going down the line. FreeMkts is right - debt shouldn't be an issue as deals are structured well.
The price dropped in the general meltdown panic. What investors didn't realize was that Air Castle actually benefited from airliners (like Air Iceland) that returned air craft. AYR got 3 months payment as a fine plus full refurbish cost and turned around and leased that plane the next month.
I like this company and own shares.

  • Buy Apple, Says Analyst [View article]
Hello? Ralph? where have you been for the past 5 years?
Nice of him to wake p from the comma and see an oppertunity in Apple :)
I think his analysis is correct, but out dated. Apple's horizon lies in media selling.
The next step for Apple is connecting iTunes to TV and selling you programs by demand. This will be war against cable companies, a war Apple is poised to win because internet is becoming the primary connection to all homes... 10 years down the line, who needs cable anyway ??

  • Google: Considering M&A After All? [View article]
I was quite surprised that Google are so late entering the "Cloud" business.
I wonder why they need to acquire companies to do that but I trust they know what they are doing.
Expect them to enter the market with a price slashing bang. Can't wait! :)

  • Cramer's Lightning Round - Too Late to Buy Intuitive Surgical (7/24/09) [View article]
Will someone please tell me what the deal is with Cramer??
Why do people still idolize him?
Why does Seeking Alpha pay him?
Has anyone ever stuck a bigger foot in his mouth like when Cramer was pumping and dumping "Lehman Brothers"?
    It's one of two:
Either he scammed people on live TV or he is the world's worst investor!
People never change.. same wall street networkers collecting the same cash from the same idiots..
I'll take any Guru on MarketGuru.com over Cramer any day..

  • Are Bing Users More Likely to Click on Ads than Google Users? [View article]
I agree.. I wouldn't read much into that stat..
Microsoft has users that are far less advanced than mainstream internet users.
Usually people searching MSN are those who don't know how to change their default page settings - either small kids or people who aren't internet savvy - those two groups are the biggest 'clickers' on the net..

  • Amazon Gaining Share on iTunes [View article]
There's no doubt that on-line music is in it's infancy. I think market share doesn't matter at this point as 95% of music downloaded is still being done illegally.
Apple's ditching DRM was a good move.

Sounds to me like DRYS are all over the place.. shipping, drilling and not an ounce of profit to be seen.
    Interesting article, thanks.

  • Barron's: Best Dividend Plays for 2009 [View article]
What's the deal with dividends anyway?
As a friend of mine says - Dividends are just a clever way for the government to tax you before you sell the stocks.

  • DryShips: The Time to Buy Is Now [View article]
This is great analysis, but could we be missing the Forrest for all the trees here?
For me, to go long - I need a better reason than re-figuring balance sheets.
DRYS have done a terrible job managing their business and the macro truth remains - demand for shipping and products is down down down.. will they survive? maybe. But beaten down companies with better macro prospect are a dime a dozen these days..
    Nevertheless, great piece, thanks.

I think the plain fact is that Yahoo failed to reinvent themselves.
We are seeing the results of the terrible Zemel era - that dude did so much damage.
yahoo can't compete with Google on anything and in my book are a SELL
