For AMZN to continue to keep up it's rate of growth of sales, companies like Sears, Best Buy, Target, etc will have to loose tens or hundreds of billions of dollars in sales. They will have to close hundreds of stores across the country. Shopping malls will be filled with empty stores. Large mall owners such as Simon Property Group will see their stock price drop by 50% or more. Retail employment will drop by 50% or more. Sales tax revenue will decrease. More states will try and impose sales taxes on Amazon.
Do you really believe millions of Americans will abandon the mall experience. Where will women go for recreational shopping? What will be left for people who want to get out and spend money. Will Whole Foods, Starbucks, Home Depot, Dollar General, Lifetime Fitness and Apple Stores be the only thing left ?

Jeff Bezos is a great internet retailer of books(written by somebody else), music, movies, clothing, electronics, etc, all designed , invented, and manufactured by somebody else. Now Jeff wants to design products to compete with Apple and Google. Jeff is out of his field of expertise. He is not in the same league with Eric Schmidt, Lawrence Page and Sergey Brim of Google. Jeff can hire good people, but can he hire a team comparable to the one put together by Steve Jobs at Apple ? Let's face reality, Jeff should take his money and run before AMZN stock drops by 50%.
