Mr. Castillero is responsible for execution of trades and meeting all governance, regulatory, and reporting requirements for Physical Gold Fund SP, as well as overall daily operations. He is also in charge of marketing the fund and client meetings on behalf of the company. Prior to Physical Gold Fund SP, Mr. Castillero acted as an Investment Advisor to the Luxembourg-regulated Precious Metals Fund – LFP Prime SICAV SIF. During this period, he was in charge of the daily operations and marketing of the fund. He worked with the Precious Metals fund for a period of 2 years in which the assets under management were of over 40 million dollars from international investors. He was responsible for the creation and structuring of the fund, as well as supervising the financial, legal, regulatory and different procedures related to the creation and launching of an investment fund. Mr. Castillero holds a degree in Law and Political Science from the Universidad Santa Maria la Antigua in Panamá and has worked as legal counsel for investment advisory companies, brokerage house, broker dealers and different financial institutions in Panama. He has knowledge of the financial and regulatory laws in Panama as well as experience in legal procedures of financial institutions in Luxembourg and the Cayman Islands. Mr. Castillero worked for 6 years in a Panama based family office with custody accounts in Swiss banks such as Credit Suisse, UBS, Credit Agricole, Julius Baer, among others. During this period, he worked as a financial analyst for the clients, researching different financial products to offer to the investors. He elaborated a monthly report focused in the gold market as a complement to create an alternative investment portfolio. He built relationships with clients as well as investment bankers, working as an intermediary between the custodian banks and the beneficial owners of the accounts. In the family office he also worked as a real estate broker, providing real estate advisory to the firm’s existing clients, and was in charge of analyzing markets and offering real estate products to the clients. He also provided legal counsel in financial structures, due diligence, legal asset protection and other legal procedures for the clients of the firm. Mr. Castillero has a Graduate Diploma Degree in Banking and Financial Services from Boston University, accounting certifications from the Republic of Panama, Panamanian Securities Licenses for stock broker, executive manager and compliance officer in the Republic of Panama.
