  • Will Microsoft Ever Grow Again? [View article]
    The cloud is where all the tech growth will be for the next decade. Put your money on the hardware companies that are building the cloud. Microsoft will dominate the service sector with their suite of software products. The migration from corporate owned servers to cloud services will explode in just a few years. The monthly fees that will be generated by cloud service provides is staggering. Microsoft in the $30's is cheap.

  • Christmas Is Not Saving Microsoft [View article]
    The Microsoft retail outlet in Bellevue ,WA which I assume is their flagship store that all other Microsoft retail outlets should be measured by is horribly run. I went shopping there one day before Thanksgiving and it was very frustrating from the moment I walked in till I left for the Apple store one floor up. The greeter at Microsoft store was holding a clip board, not a tablet, but an actual clip board to direct customers depending on their needs. The girl w/the clipboard was not very sure with my request about whom I should talk with regarding the Surface applications available that are geared towards Real Estate Professionals. It was like I was talking with someone from mars. The system this store employed to get me to knowledge sales persons was to point a finger at an employee in the back of the store.
    The person the clipboard girl was pointing to was not looking towards us to acknowledge that I was heading their way. This did not concern her clipboard girl at all. She just pointed to the back of the store at someone who could answer my stupid questions. She really did not say ‘stupid’but, boy it was sure implied. When I started walking towards the person I thought she was pointing to that person turned to assist another customer. I approached another sale lady that was adding some virtual paint strokes to a Van Gogh painting that was displayed on a large monitor. When I ask this person if she was available to help me, she said yes but continued virtually painting adding her genius to the Van Gogh painting on the large monitor. She never once made eye contact with me nor did she engage me so I felt she really understand what I was asking. I got PO and left this genius and headed toward another assistant. After this person listened to my questions on what I was inquiring about she told me I would be happier with a new Samsung laptop.
    I know what a freaking laptop has to offer I was there to learn about the freaking ‘Surface’. With my head ready to explode I headed to the Apple store and my experience there was 180 degrees different from what I had just been through at the Microsoft store. All my questions were answered plus the sale person told me at their store they puts on weekly tutorials to teach clients how to fully maximize their products. Wow! What a bonus. As I left the Apple store I went back to the Microsoft store to speak with a manager to tell him of the horrible experience I had at his store. Of course he took the time then to answer my questions but never once did he tell if his store offers free class to teach their clients how to experience the full power of Surface tablet.
    If Microsoft wants to play and win in the retail market they better hire some people that know how to train employees so each customer coming through the doors has a positive shopping experience.
