  • Better Than the Depression? Don't Kid Yourselves [View article]
    Just my two cents:

Oil prices put us in this mess - not bad loans. I don't know about everyone else, but compared to May-September I now have $140 more a month now that gas prices have dropped. That's $140 more to spend/save as I like (that may have been the unfortunate difference where people could pay or not pay their mortgage) and put back into the economy. As long as oil keeps around historic averages and the American people don't panic and stop spending (sending us into a quicksand vortex that has already begun) we can climb back out of this recession.

The more people panic, the less they spend. The less they spend, the more companies that go out of business. The more companies that go out of business, the more people lose jobs - AND - the more money the government loses (as stated above in the article). Get the idea?

The quicker the United States comes up with an energy solution, the quicker we get out of a recession and start creating new jobs and also saving money (and our planet). Self reliance is key for this nation - UNITED WE STAND!

  • Apple's Been iSued [View article]
I don't know what the problem is but I have the original iPhone without the 3G and I'm on my second phone because of the same dropped calls problems (along with other issues as well) Apple replaced the phone for me and although it's been better I still don't have great reception. So call it whatever you want: iPhone problem, 3G problem, AT&T problem or a combination of all of the above. Either way there are definitely defective iPhones out there but Apple is willing to replace without a lawsuit from my experiences. It's just too bad there seems to be so many problems with what could be a great product.

  • Study: U.S. Has 118 Year Supply of Natural Gas [View article]
Even at 30 years' worth of supply, as long as we don't see that as a solution to end all our worries - we will have an alternate solution (solar, electric, etc) by then. As far as transportation goes, doesn't anybody watch futuristic movies??? Public transportation or a form of monorail with an electric car (already in the works here in Ohio by an inventor) will be the wave of the future for transportation!! You heard it here first folks.

  • T. Boone Pickens on Yahoo and the Price of Oil [View article]
Alamo you are 100% right. We need to first drill in Alaska to immediately stop the dependence on oil while we figure out a natural energy source (solar, wind, natural gas, etc.) as the oil reserves in Alaska would not be a long-term solution, only a temporary ween off of foreign dependency.

  • 29 Financially Troubled States of America [View article]
As long as local govs take action immediately and the media doesn't send the public into a panic, cutting back on costs and just being smarter about spending (but not eliminating it) should keep the economy stable. I also think local businesses can help much more than they realize by creating condensed work weeks, work from home positions, and so on to help eliminate some commuting time!
