I'm concerned the DOJ will place a cloud over GOOGLE. You think if Russia had the world's leading SE they would harass the company that created it? Our gov't is Lenin on crack, they need to get a life. A good example of this nonsense is the huge threat of Whole Foods cornering the organic tomato market.

      Fannie/Freddie Bailout 'Disastrous Fiasco'
This could not be done in a way to at least preserve share holder value at $10 or more? Paulson effectively delisted FNM and FRE.

Obama vs. McCain: Which Candidate is Better for Ethanol and Equipment Companies?
Obama's energy plan is mostly a pander. Obama paints the oils as evil to get votes. His idea of lowering prices by tapping into the meager volume of the SPR is a total joke but he believes this populist approach will win votes. NoBama.

Appetite for Risk? Buy Some RIMM
I agree with you; RIMM is one you have to get in/get out of in the short term unless this is a long term investment and you are OK with the ups and downs.

Phil- Do you have any expectation that FNM will not be as bad as FRE when they report?

Thanks, it amazes me people will spend that much money on a put.
Gene Muenster, Piper Jaffray, has been quite bullish on GOOGLE but believes it will trade sidewys thru August. The YHOO-MSFT collapse had no poistive impact on Google which surprised me.

Cuomo Takes Action Against Citigroup, as ABCP Buyers Wait in Vain
The gov't does almost nothing about the theft of hundreds of billions from the small investor through stock manipulation by hedge funds.
The trading of major equities and commoditie smostly has nothing to do with fundamentals anymore. I don't know if there is a case here against C; I know there are bigger issues the SEC and DOJ totally ignore.

I should add my review of GOOG options concludes price is pinned at 480 or 470. I'm new to options so other opinions welcome.

Buy Natural Gas - Cramer's Lightning Round (8/1/08
Apparently, CNBC likes to market Jimbo's meltdown.
Bloomberg is much better resource for investrors. CNBC is entertainment. I like Erin Burnett; she works hard and is sincere.
Najarian and Macke spew out some good stuff once in awhile but I would not buy/sell on anything they say. Don't know why they have Karen Finerman on there; she does not want to give out information.
She kited MSFT and YHOO way past the time when it was clear they were dogs with fleas.

I surveyed GOOG options and I see puts with premiums in the range $35-$55 at strike prices less then $500. The volume is not that high or low. Are these hedges against long positions in GOOG stock? I find it hard to believe GOOG won't break out past $500 by October.

Why I'm Committed to the UltraShort Financials ETF
I was in SKF in 130's, out in 170's a few weeks ago. I count myself luck, this stock is as much a bet as the slots in Vegas or other ETF's like USO and DUG. Its just betting. SKF is fighting the FED and the Congress and the banks who are working their way out of this mess.
Ask someone who recently bought skf at >130 and ask them if they are happy.
