    The market is totally dysfunctional and the only rational approach is day-to-day assessment. Unless your time horizon is > 2 years and arguably 5, only trade day to day and stay is cash. That is what I am doing.

    The world in 1929 was completely different. Yoiu did not have huge emerging economies like China, India, Brasil. We're much more resilient.
    I don't believe charts from the 1920's, 30's or even 70's are that useful.

    Bernanke's "speeches" are excruciating. He dances around issues instead of speaking plain and straight. He must have mentioned his concern about inflation three times!!! No wonder the market crashed.

    Yes, Chris Cox finally got around to enforcing naked short selling, a practice which supposedly contributed to the Great Depression in the 30's. The more things change the more they stay the same.

    Good article. I would add a lot of companies are now mostly hiring "term employees"; the big drug companies do this. These term employees are quasi employees, get some benefits, but are treated as disposable items. Actually most employees in usa are treated as no more then organic machinery. No wonder many people give up.
