What are you talking about? Clearly you are carying alot of short positions on Etrade otherwise why would you report out such ficticious info? Etrade is Trading at 194,000 trades a day in October. I will agree that some are buy and hold accounts or securities in some accounts. Etrade over the last several quarters have managed to find a way forward and has been steadily growing the business, improving their trading tools, and improving their balance sheet. Yes they had bad mortgages on their bank balance sheets and continue to do write offs and in the next two quarters the bank will be able to cover future losses internally from their paying mortage coustomers. This will allow the business to to a net positive company and remember its brokerage unit is solid and strong bringinging in over a billion dollars a year. I say no to an aquistion at $4. Etrade has 1.2 billion in debt and well over 4 billion in cash.

Etrade currently has 1.3 billion in debt. and over 4 billion in cash. If Etrade was to be sold to ameritrade it would have to offer $5 in cash and 1 share of amtd for every 4 etrade shares. That would be the value I expect as a shareholder. If voted on I would say no to any merger or aquistion. Etrade has went this far and weathered the storm. It will have more value on its own.

  • E*Trade Takeover Chatter: How Should an Investor Respond? [View article]
As a shareholder of Etrade ETFC I want to see them go it alone unless the new owner for example ameritrade would pay $5 cash along with every four shares of Etrade you would get one Ameritrade share. That would be fair due to the fact that Etrade is sitting on over 4 billion in Cash and has 1.2 billion in debt. The brokerage unit is a cash cow . The company is expected to loss only one penny in the fourth quarter. What if it breaks even or a penny profit. That stock will hit $10.

  • An Ameritrade-E*Trade Merger? Not as Crazy as It Sounds [View article]
Etrade (ETFC) if they are acquired by Ameritrade (AMTD) what would it mean for the shorts? I would like to find out if they are in talks. Why else are the two of these heavyweights so silent through this turmoil. They are the beneficiaries during this time. Etrade share price is so low. They have more cash on hand then the all the shares combined.
