Due to compliance restrictions at my current job I will no longer be writing on Seeking Alpha, I have many ideas already simmering for when I can once again write publicly.
I write about under-valued under-loved and under-appreciated investments. The occasional special situation or large cap that has been unjustifiably slammed may also be covered.
As we like to say here on SA I want an asymmetrical risk/return investment or to quote a master:
“You’re looking for a mispriced gamble. That’s what investing is. And you have to know enough to know whether the gamble is mispriced. That’s value investing.” –Charlie Munger
When found, I'll be sure to let you know.

I am a 40 something year old software engineer passionately working from home for the company I founded over a decade ago on a shoe string. Now I balance raising three terrific kids with coding and investing and brewing my own craft beer and meade. I shoot mostly from the hip on the market, a mix of a little bit of brains with a lot of dumb luck.
My stock portfolio is most about trying to capture tiny slices of ownership in the dominant publically traded companies in the world (in most sectors and industries) and not overpaying for that little piece of future earnings. I want to pay at most fair-valuation (although sometimes I try for bargain prices) as long the company appears solid and I think the company will be around 10 years and more. That is what I found produce the best total returns. I am mostly focussed on mature companies that pay dividends, but I do make exceptions, for leading companies in some industries - even if their dividend yield is low. I appreciate diversification and risk-management by not putting too much cash into each stock.

I have been an active investor for almost 20 years. My main focus is on high-yield stocks, particularly MLPs, and high-growth oil companies in the Eagle Ford shale. I have a portion of my portfolio allocated to short-term trading, with a focus on over-reactions to company news and directional plays on VIX-based ETFs. I am happy to answer just about any question sent my way, especially from those new to the stock market.
Just an average investor... primarily in American equity and bonds.

The top gold and silver analyst on Seeking Alpha. One of the few that does the hard leg work necessary in this field.
The Gold and Silver Report is in progress and will be ready in a month with a close look at some very interesting names from the junior level all the way up to the majors.
