I am a CPA, I have educated 3 grown children whom I am very proud of. I was self employed, now semi-retired. I also taught baseball for 30 years and still consider myself a "student" of the game. And I found investing to be similar. You have to know when to trade them and when not to! Some of the best trades are the ones you don't make. Discipline and late inning strategy is the key. I follow Warren Buffet's ideals. His 2 rules of investing, 1, never lose money, 2, remember rule # 1. Also buy stock in a company that even an idiot could run because someday an idiot will. I do not invest in all of the companies that he does, although we have some of the same positions. I have found myself investing in like positions prior to the Oracle of Omaha. And I do not walk on water! I have learned by my mistakes!
