You are exactly right on target with your assessment. I wonder how Paulson ever came up with $7B. Was that a "pull it out of the air" number. It would have been really nice to see true DOT numbers, using available software as you pointed out. I'd like to have seen all the "Illiquid" stuff, especially who owns it. Please publish those numbers if you ever get access to them.

Death of Value Investing? Way Overstated

If you are an investor that can stay away from all the hype and the "latest and greatest", and "got to have" stock talk, then value investing is for you. You will make tons of money, over time if you are paient and willing to truely analyze a few key factors of any stock out there on the exchanges. I know, I have't lost hardly any money over the past 11 years. I always do my research and look for the "true value" of a stock in it's current and future market.
