  • The Fed's MBS Shell Game [View article]
That is a good one. Blame the unelected branch- the central bank. I don't think so. Last time I looked it is the elected branches at the federal, state and local governments that have destroyed our future with reckless borrowing. In other words, get me reelected and to hell with the future. The fed was wrong to play the political game and apease politicians. But its actions pale in comparison to what the elected branches have done to us.

that is good, "at least bush wasn't weak". Tell that to the families who lost their sons on a war in Iraq based on false data. Bush was correct to hit the Taliban. Then he recklessly took us into Iraq and destroyed or focus. He made us less safe in the world when he hit Iraq. Don't you see that.

Mr. Dalt, you seriously need to think about your one sided thinking. You have vindicated my comments, you were not an 'equal opportunity critic', even when you should have been. "I did not agree with much of what Bush did, but he did not say that there are 52 states" . Please, give me a break. That is utter nonsense. It means nothing to this nation. How about putting us into a war on false data, the data that the Bush inner circle wanted. They forced out numerous advisors who did not tell them what they wanted to hear. It was a closed shop. Don't you see that. You say that the drug program is under budget. Really. If it is (and I don't believe it), it is under budget on a short term basis only. Did Bush really sign a drug bill that was paid for long term, that does not burden our kids. Did you know that the bill Bush signed specifically prohibited Medicare from bargaining for lower rates on drugs based on bulk purchases or guaranteed business. Does that make sense to you. It is totally clear that the drug bill was wrong when Bush signed it. I have just proven your bias. I am critical of Obama, but I was more critical of Bush. Obama inherited multiple disasters from Bush.

I am pointing out hypocracy. I was consistently critical of both sides because both were wrong for our children.

"where they are inept, national security and fiscal policy", etc. Please give me your quotes through 8 years of the most incompetent corrupt administration in recent history, GW Bush. "The weapons are there". "Get that new drug bill on my desk so I can sign it". To which I said, but Mr. President, you didn't fund the program. No matter, pass the bill to our kids. You want to tell me that this administration is doing the same thing, fine, but you better well have said the exact same things during the Bush administration. this is the problem that I have with most of you guys who keep harping on Obama who inherited a basket case economy from Bush. You never said a word when Bush gave everything to the wealthy and spent our kids into poverty. Just give me a few quotes and I will accept you as a valid objective commentator.

  • Closing Update for Friday, Sept. 4: Mixed Picture [View article]
good, I'm glad to see people out there who think this economy is recovering. It is good to see people on the other side of the trade. What I see is this: fewer people in stores and restaurants than one year ago, homes not selling even at lower prices, people being put out of work or having their hours cut, and less credit available to consumers. At least they are upgrading the plumbing in your neighborhood.

I'm glad the working committee figured this out, some of us saw it 3 years ago without a working committee. Lax oversight by George Bush regulators. Paulson to the rescue now when it's too late. What a joke. It was all fine when they were making money.
