    Huge.
Over on the commodity side, we should have real time COT info. How archaic is it to report Tuesday information on Friday.

  • Prospect Capital: Are You Serious?  [View article]
    Richardsok:

You say: "But (in my opinion) there's little doubt that the entity exists for the wildly successful enrichment of the management ...."

I'm assuming you are referring to their fees. But management must also think they can wildly enrich themselves through dividends and stock price appreciation because they have been buying millions of dollars of their stock in the open market, at prices higher than today's price. Why not follow their lead?

    Safety: Great suggestion.

As is too often the case, there is no mention by the author of jurisdictional/political risk.

Indeed, helpful advice. I would like to learn more of your reasoning for your negative stance on NovaGold. It has appeared strong on a relative basis of late and has received some positive commentary from others. Thanks.

  • Gold Mining Stocks, The Rock And A Hard Place  [View article]
Alluded to, if not directly stated: If you are going to buy gold-mining stocks, buy those of companies in the US. With gold at 72.6% of reserves (for the US) versus 5.7% and .2% (for Australia and Canada, respectively), the implication is that the US is less likely to nationalize gold miners than is Australia and Canada. And that's supported by the fact that the governments of Australia and Canada are more "left" than the US...for now.

  • Sandstorm Announces Blockbuster Streaming Agreement With Yamana Gold: Taking A Deeper Look  [View article]
The former Wonderkid goes almost all in on another deal that gives the company further exposure to political risk in Argentina where his "luck" hasn't been so good. Why no mention of political risk in this article, or did I miss it by reading too fast? I know, I know, there's an election, but the fact remains, it's a high-risk jurisdiction, has been and will be for as far as the eye can see (except for Watson's eye). Use up the cash and the line of credit, and dilute the shareholders, and leave the company exposed...now hand me the dice.

How long before they drop their Canada "citizenship" and settle in another country? It should be easy to do, they are basically some offices where the staff works to find business deals.
