  • Constructing And Designing The Stock Portfolio That's Just Right For You: Part 1 [View article]
    Chuck,

Thanks for taking your time to write this excellent educational article. I spent quite a long time tonight read and re-read your article and your detail explanation. It is hard to find anyone has such a patient personality to explain in clear tone to each of the posting. You are indeed a great teacher who has real knowledge. I respect you and enjoy your teaching method.

I am sure tons of people would thank you for your articles, even some of them did not post any comment here. I feel bad for people who do not take time to join this discussion. They certainly miss the best chance to learn from the real life time experienced teacher. What a shame. I am looking forward to read your next articles. Thank you again!!! ---Small

Thanks, mp, I re-read the link. Thanks for your thought.

I like IBM. It started when I was a college student. I still have my IBM computer(as well as Commodore 64, weird, hah).

I am holding IBM(not too many shares) , willing to add more shares when I have extra money. I am sure it will take longer time than I plan to. I just use this chance to test my patient. See what is the outcome. ---Small

    Eddie,

I thank you for putting ton of efforts and time sharing these information. Appreciate that a lot.

You helped lots of people cut off the research time and also you showed me your goal. Thank you very much. Chowder reminded us look at the quality of stocks those we want to get in, not only the dividends. I follow his wisely advise to avoid emotional decision.

Be patient is another component that we need to build. I am surprised to see quite a number of non-dividend stocks on the list. I am lucky enough to be here in SA. Without all your help and all other kindness of sharing, I am sure I am somewhere in open field, looking of direction. Yes, I have GPS, but one day, that GPS led me to the lake--no joking, I was lucky, because I just testing that GPS on the way to work--the road I drove for more than 20 Years....I still use that GPS for driving to NY city. Use my brain to do the right thing is my choice. Thanks for sharping my old brain. hahha. ---Small

    Eddie,

Thanks again for another great tool. I am so blessed to have chance to be here and learn from the best teacher like you are (and David Crosetti,......). Thanks SA, too. I collect this kind of tools. So far I cut off so many time in doing research. Thank you for another sharing.

I am busy double checking all my holdings. Yes, I used the link you gave me yesterday. It is also a fun thing to see each stock's div paying history. So many "OH" and "WOW" last night when I saw their long history. I could not stop using that tool---wonderful. Now you gave me another "toy", I am sure this weekend will be fun+ UCONN parade on Sunday here for both men and women won the basketball.... Who cares market is acting silly these days..... hahaa.

I am following Mike Nadel steps and see if some stocks are not qualified for huge storm in near future. Then the quick act will be followed. So far they are steady and boring. As most of friends are doing here, I pay more attention to their dividend activity. Thank you Mike for sharing and showing your positive personality! ----Small

    David,

Thanks for fast reply. The reason I was asking ---I was watching this QCOR very closely and ready to add the shares when the chance came like yesterday. I was concerned while I read your posting. I think I will still act soon and add more on it. For long run, this is a good merging. Thanks for helping me all the time.

Eric, I agree with your idea. I am also holding it firmly and add more.
    Thank you all! ---Small

I love to visit the place, that was why I invested on DIS. They only paid dividend once a year, right? Hope they will change it, but may be not now. Looking forward to see this DIS grow steady and pay quarterly divvy. ---Small

I am sure soon will be more people holding the glasses and cheers as you did.

    David,

    Thanks for writing this article.

One question, please. I am wondering why you decide to close QCOR position? Is that because it was merging with MNK or any other reason? Thank you. ----Small

  • What If My Stocks Crash And Burn? Part 1 [View article]
    Inz,

Nice to see your reality article published today. We all need to ask ourselves that question. I am not sure I have a firm or complete answer to that. I am hoping I can limit my risk and have a simple portfolio.

I am still trying to figure out the true answer to your title. The Wall Street legend Gerald M. Loeb once said in his classic book,---The Battle for Investment Survival: "Diversification is a necessity for the beginner. On the other hand, the really great fortunes were made by concentration."

I consider myself is a beginner of DGI and truly is a learner. So, diversified my portfolio is my job. For my age, move up to the level of making great fortune is just a sweat dream but not reality true life.

Thanks for ringing the bell. It is a good timing and a great written article. I am looking forward to read your Part 2. ----Small
