The one thing Obama promised that he has unquestionably kept his word on is change and change we will, weather the people like it or not. There have been countless demonstrations of outrage regarding issues this President has created and if they have one thing in common it is that he doesn't care what the people think any longer, he has convinced himself he knows best even as he makes a fool of himself touring Europe he conveys he is much wiser than any other leaders with decades of experience. I believe he also has addressed the issue of reelection into account as well and has assured reelection regardless of votes as demonstrated in many other Countries where the incumbent wins regardless of the voter outcome which is masterfully manipulated to the point no one could challenge anything let alone attempt to prove anything starting with his falsifying his natural birth records and guaranteeing the Supreme Court never addresses it. The entire political system, the voting system, and even the notion or threat of losing reelection or calling your Representative to complain has become history, again, weather you like it or not, he said, "there WILL be change and change has come. If you think it sounds like science fiction or any other kind of fiction you want to label it I will not argue with you, I cannot believe the change I see on a daily basis myself and just for the record, no, I don't like it, I don't like it one bit.

I don't know what or who to believe anymore, but assuming any numbers even have any significance left, can the Dow really go lower, is there actually a bottom or is that just a made up term in an attempt to comfort others, can it go to zero, can it go below zero?

Ouch, Just saw the November jobs report - 533 Thousands non farm jobs gone. It's seems as if Hollywood and Wall St. have collided as the reporter managed to spit the words out of his mouth on CNBC. It reminded me of the famous line from The Perfect Storm when the Captain realizes their fate is sealed and remarks to his crew - "She's not gonna let us out" it really sends a chill out my spine to see the implication that we are in the perfect economic storm. As much as it may be true though I'm not sure if the theatrics were intentional or not, I would hope however the guys at CNBC, as much as I enjoy watching the station, would try their best to keep it together

You have a few good ideas there outofchops, imagine the nerve of those people, while they slash others salaries they have the nerve to take full salary after they are retired, I never heard of anyone getting full salary after retiring. I really hate to sound so pessimistic but honestly they have people so confused nobody knows if they're coming or going anymore and frankly I have a suspicion that's exactly how they want it, things are going exactly the way they are supposed to be going and the only ones who know that is how they are suppose to be going are those few who continue their secret weekend meetings. I really am just furious! People have lost their entire savings, their pensions and retirement annuities and literally thousands are out of work, look at the tens of thousands from Citi alone, it's like some damn science fiction movie! And they have the nerve to take full salary in retirement? They are worse than Hollywood. I truly fear something is going to give and give big, weather it is the way passhappy describes or some other way which I hate to even imagine, we are rapidly approaching a crossroad.

DOW closes down nearly 500 points - again to close at 7997. I may not be an economist but it seems common sense says this trend can't continue for much longer, but then again common sense may be asking too much.

It's 9AM, the DOW is at 8300 and futures are pointing down 200. If I heard correctly, the housing starts are at at 61 year low. We were heading for 14000 less than a year ago on the DOW. Consumer prices are down the lowest ever since the Government started keeping records according to CNBC. I'm starting to wonder IF there's a bottom let alone where it is with this market falling at terminal velocity it seems. I understand this isn't by any means entirely Obama's fault but as I said close to a year ago he is most certainly having a historic effect on the market and investors and he hasn't even taken office yet - Happy freakin Holidays.

Econ, thank you. I appreciate your generous open mindedness, a truly rare quality today as one doesn't dare disagree with Obama nor think for themselves, you, as well make a number of good points. Again, a mind is a terrible thing to waste. As far as me having a racist bone in my body, I never knew anything other than a black woman for a mother who I loved dearly, she was a smart woman with a good heart. I wouldn't care if the candidate was green with polka dots as long as they are qualified for the job. I will also tell you I have every intention of obtaining a copy of Obama's SF-86 from the office of personnel management, a mandatory form for those seeking a top security clearance and I will especially pay attention and make public section 29, personal associations then we'll see who's lying. I will not stop because unlike some other individuals my Country comes first not my personal agenda to overthrow the American Government. Yes, it sounds a bit nutty and nobody would ever believe it, that is precisely what Obama is counting on. I make decisions carefully after weighing all the facts whether I like those facts or not and Obama is a con man. A mind is a terrible thing to waste.

Dividend Cuts: Time to Sell?

One of the strongest, most sensible statements I feel is; My experience has been once a company cuts its dividend, the stock continues to drop. After all, this goes to the whole screening process in buying a dividend stock in the first place as when I search for a possible dividend buy, part of the criteria from the start is that their dividend has consistently gone up every year, for example PG. I will add however, given the drastically new landscape of the investment world it may require more patience to find such candidates in the immediate future.
