Have you looked into EXEL? Also, you mentioned in the article that FEYE is attractive but valuation is too high. I am assuming you are talking about current prices around 40 dollar, correct? It went into twenties earlier this year and climbed into forties subsequently. Did you feel FEYE was over priced in twenties also?

  • The Volatility Index Does Not Tell The Future [View article]
Charlie Munger once said in an interview that Hedge funds trade short term but pay long term capital gains tax. Having your hedge fund background, may I ask if retail investors are also blessed with such tax saving strategies in a cash account? If yes, would you please share these strategies for the benefits of those who save aggressively, aspire to retire early and have retirement age too far away for IRAs to play a meaningful role.

You are correct the price is dropping from the level seen on 4/10/14. However, to hold the theory that funds desperately want out is not working as the trading volume is relatively low. Though, you are right on the dot about the price drop. Let's see where we go from here

  • Online brokers tumble; Schwab decries HFT [View news story]
Good to hear some one else validate my assumptions. I can't recall any time Schwab has filled my order at bid or ask. I see level II quotes from a non-Schwab source. It appears every time I put in an order at ask to buy or sell at bid, my order does not get filled. When I do market orders, I always get higher price for buying and lower price for selling.

  • ETF price wars: Schwab cuts fees on two EM funds [View news story]
Have you monitor Schwab order filling on level II quotation? Here is an experiment you can do to check their order filling process. Say you want to sell 1000 shares of ABC, instead of selling a round lot of 1000 shares, put a limit order of 1001 or 1003 shares at bid while monitoring level II screen. This way on level II screen you can see which market maker gets your order from Schwab. If same market makers processes your every trade, this in my opinion shows that Schwab may be getting kick backs from market maker for routing order to them. I have seen all my trades are routed to USBB.
