Take a country like Japan that has chosen not to replace the aged and you have a never ending recession. RogerKnights is right. The United States is relying on our Mexican neighbors to replace our aged. IMO our standard of living will never return to what it was in the 90's because American has chosen socialism as the path of the future. I am 61 and I don't think I will ever see the market at 14,000 again in my lifetime, but, I sure hope I'm wrong.

If all the ag compaines called it then why should their stocks be down. This bad news should already be priced in. DE called a 10 to 20% drop so apparently DE is a company that has foresight.

In the end the explosive population growth will determine the direction of ag related. It is like oil, the long term line is up with no end in site but, along the way there will be dips and peaks. If something were to happen to the world population like an epidemic that would wipe out 10% or more then all sectors would suffer ...but that is just common sense.
