Proposed Changes to Canadian Pension Plan [View article]
Here's something that you might find interesting. You can apply at 60 yes but you can't make over $980 per month as I understand it. And I haven't yet checked to see if that income ceiling remains post age 65.
The Short Term Case for Long Term Deflation [View article]
What a shame. Some people think their opinions are so important they repeat them in the struggle and prayer they'll be read thereby taking up everyone else's limited and precious time! If you have something good to write, then write it once and move on. Thanks Bud(s)!

There is no way Air Canada will survive! It was restructured just recently and that did not work! How many times are these guys going to continue to mess up? Fire them. Put in a 2 year old! That'll be just as effective!

I don't know if Canada will resemble the USA or not. I do know a party that purchased a small bungalow for around 250k in Toronto around 2001 and sold it late in 2006 for 750k to a supposed developer for "LOT VALUE." So if the lot is worth that much, how much would a McMansion built on it be worth? And in the "Beaches" area houses that had sold around 300k were commonly selling well over 1 mil. I'm an old farm boy and there are stories of many farmers, just north of the city, who became instant millionaires by selling their farms to "foreign investors." A bubble? Here in Canada? No way! Our houses were just too cheap compared to other major cities of the world! That's the "honest to God's truth". So There!!
Kovacevich, Lewis and Geithner Speak Out on the Banking Industry [View article]
The whole system is corrupt.... both banking and government... they are not separate entities; rather, they are competing for the same thing.... and that's the public's money! Don't let articles like this deceive you any further. It's simply bank paid propaganda!
What 8 Bailout CEOs Need to Explain [View article]
What I am fearful of is that I, as a Canadian, will find our government, and the governments of the entire world, having to follow the USA example! We are all freaking doomed! This bad guy buddy system smiles at us and smooths with words whilst at the same time picking our pockets AND stabbing us in the back all at the same time .
Making Canada Our 51st State Could Make It Easier to Buy American [View article]
I apologize for all this canadian blather from my friends and citizens. They are so self-righteous but do not likely know that our national government pension plan managers bought 30,000,000 shares of Nortel, it's now in bankruptcy, and our government has to, and is, bailing them out. sorry... but the reality is we've also got some work to do. I was pleased for the video from Barstow with all the snow. Great treat for the kids who are used to 115 degree temperatures. Cheers!!
Jim Rogers on Banking Bailout: 'Horrible Economics' [View article]
The United States is still the free-est country in the world bar none! When it realizes what the scandalous ones are doing, they will end up in jail or .....period. Jim Rogers can afford to live where he wishes. The USA is a dangerous place to be right now because of what the bankers exported. Hopefully, they will clean the mess up without too much damage to the other nations and thereby make the world a safer place for everyone!
You know, it seems to me the problem is one of government fraud. This article is just another smoke screen of what's really going on. Hans Sennholz in his book, "Age of Inflation," talks about the dollar being worth, I believe, something like 8 cents. But guess what.... that was in 1979!! What do you think it's really worth today? It's like the media asking, when referring to the auto bailout, "Is X number of dollars enough? Wrong question. What we should be asking is, " Which of these politicians should we hang FIRST? We don't know whether to spend, save or just burn our money because we don't know what the incompetants are going to do next. I don't know about anyone else, but I'm telling you, we may be headed for a serious revolution when people figure out how they've been, and are, being duped.
