Finmah - you are so correct it's sickening. Doesn't anybody with half a brain know this ?
Even Phil is so hung up on Bush bashing it's absurd. There are approx 545 people in thei country that basically run it. Yet Bush gets all the press. Bad enough the rest do very little except screw things up yet nobody blasts them.
Listening to Barack last night gives me great hope that he will be able to deliver all those flowery promises (delusions of grandeur).
      Blah.

Do Banks Indicate the Stock Market's Direction?
Great article - I'm not a financial guy but even I can see by looking at the charts that history doesn't mean much to these folks.

I just wanted to make sure in your text:

"I have pulled out a few fundamental graphs pertaining to the U.S. situation in order to assist in gauging the LIE of the land."

That you didn't mean "LAY" of the land.
Nice pun. (actually either way !)

Curious cat has it about right.
If we (USA) are so bad then why in the hell does everyone want to come here ?
The only people I see leaving are fleeing felons, draft dodgers, etc.
They sure as hell aren't leaving here for a "better" life elsewhere.
Anyone have the net immigation/emigration figures for USA vs the rest of the world ??
Don't bother about Mexico - I think I know the answer to that one !
And stop bagging on Grace! You have the right to disagree with her but you don't have to be a dick about it.

Realtors, Prepare to Lose Your 6 Percent
      I sold a house in 1978 for 64,000 and paid a 5 or 6 % commission.
I sold a house in 2006 for 450,000 myself and paid no commission.
If I had paid 6% do you think the 30,000 would have required more work than the 4,000 paid in 78 ? Absolutely ludicrous especially when an agent was basically an order taker.
Think things are tough now ????
I am a CASH buyer and wait a week to get calls returned if at all. When I do get an agent to show a house they rarely even ask if I want to make an offer. I tell them I am interested in the area and I have had ONE email me to ask if I was still interested - I replied - yes - and haven't heard back for 3 weeks.
Now you tell me are things so tough that I can't even get an agent to try to sell me a house ??????
Bullshit. Even 3% on a $100,000 is $3000 - not bad for just showing me a house and taking a deposit.
Something is smelling really bad here.

Gotta watch out for those petards ('I apoogize for poor language usage'). Some folks just like to bitch about Phil & Shedlock. Don't know why they continue to do it. If they are so damn knowledgeable why am I not seeing them as authors ?
They also delight in taking things out of context - they really need to read the ENTIRE article and not just stop as soon as they read something that sets them off.

I'm betting it will and I'm not alone.

I heard something I just find so hard to believe.
That when things are taxed the price increase is actually passed on to the next buyer.
Can this possibly be true ?
So taxing fuel and the oil companies, etc., will make me pay MORE ???
And this benefits me HOW ???
