Sorry to disappoint but I read it LOL Not sure about "net loss" ? If I buy 100 NLY today @16 it would have to go a LONG way after a year to show a net loss - share price loss + dividends. If both were down 50% after a year you would still have a $100 gain, yes? An extremely unlikely case looking at the record for the past 10 years. At ANY time in the past 10 years had you bought and held, today you would still be ahead. Can't over think that.
Wish I could say I was not sincere - but you are so pathetic and uncomprehending I doubt you would care. re "As for revolutions, I was at Tiananmen Square" And I'm sure you were driving the tank. FYI - "more interesting debate" I do not prefer to engage in a battle of wits with an opponent who is "half" armed - 愚笨 or 一半機智 Think about that one, Chairman. Have a nice trip. Would hope at least a few of your fellow citizens are not as anti-American as you. - try to avoid them.

OK - so the "average" investor makes 4% then goes out and pays 1% (or more) to a BF to hopefully make as much investing in the same stuff? Or are you taking a shot at the brokers? And if you have been following this thread, your advice: "This is why the average investor needs a- good ethical - financial planner.", has me and I assume a LOT of my fellow SA readers ROTFLMA - (Rolling on the floor laughing my ass off) GOOD , ETHICAL ? We talking about the same people here ??? Get real.

Well - you know what they say - even bad publicity is better than none at all. Wonder how many folks tuned in to you after that? You should send him a check or at least an autographed picture LOL

I did - don't bother - they will tell you what you already know and recommend some instruments for you that they may just coincidentally have a connection to. And besides you probably already know more than they do. Keep up what you are doing and invest those absurd fees yourself. Been there - done that ! Bill

Would you like to take a wild guess as to how many BFs are using your stuff for their fish (oops - clients) ? They could sure as hell do a lot worse - not that anyone would ever "borrow" from you! LOL

@SD & apeterson8809 I love how you guys continue to speak for the "average person" as if you are one and not typical of the "average person" here at SA. You surely have noticed that by now that the "average person" here has not had a very pleasant experience with your peers. I have only ever bought ONE lottery ticket - for my barber as a tip - won him $5. Of course I am only 80 so I still have time. I don't read a medical journal either and I believe there are a few doctors who are in it for the money unlike the majority of you in the financial game who are in it solely for the money (why else). And I have used webmd to discover a few things that my Dr. didn't know about problems that I have had - primarily with medications. Do you have any idea how many comments there would be if RS had written a pro-BF article? The server would have crashed. NOTE to RS - Don't do it!!! I fear you both have chosen the wrong battlefield here. You both may be very successful and honest - sure would hope there are some out there. But we appreciate your comments - I also never said ALL are BFs - just the majority - and oddly enough have never had anyone recommend or tell me about a successful relationship with anyone in your field but certainly more than few with a less than satisfying "ordeal"

So now you speak for the average American??? Not speaking as one I suspect. You are confusing "current consumption" with everyday survival. I believe most people over 30 ARE concerned with long term - just difficult to do much about it and some that do: "have the focus or interest to understand how to invest wisely" then fall victim to the "too many advisors took advantage of them". Your comments are insulting to say the least and contradictory at best. In your desperate effort to defend the many BFs in your line of "work" here, I fear you are achieving a net loss.
