  • OPEC Wants Less Speculation on Oil Futures [View article]
Like my stepdad would say to OPEC - wish in one hand and crap into the other - and see which one gets full the soonest.
I recall a time when Shell, et al was developing the oil fields and 2 - 3 $/bbl being paid to the "rulers" and they were happy to take it. My - how times change.

  • World Oil Supplies Declining Faster Than Expected - IEA [View article]
If you think we never lost a war I guess you didn't see the all helicopters leaving Vietnam with all the people trying to get on board.
We got our asses kicked. We should send all the politicians, Jane, and her ilk over there to celebrate the victory - then bomb it flat - like we shoulda done in the first place

  • Where Will Oil Go From Here? [View article]
Powell didn't "go over" to the Democrats. He went over to Obama. You don't need to ask why. Look at the Army Times poll of the military - it will answer all your questions. Racisim is alive and well and it ain't all Whitey.
I agree - Obama is intelligent - certainly politically if not realistically. He sure seems to have fooled most of the people up until now. As far as cutting taxes for 95% of the people - something like 38% don't pay any now and in fact get money from the IRS. Wealthy people didn't get that way by being stupid except for those that inherited it - like the Kennedys.

  • Incorrect Media Speculation About Those Oil Speculators [View article]
As usual Jack Y is right on the money.
I listen to him very carefully. I have some Canroys for dividends (and trading)
and I have made some money on DUG options - both directions and haven't lost yet.
    I hope I wasn't responsible for oil prices because I "speculated" . Silly me - I thought that is what I do when I buy/sell options ?
I even sell "naked" put options when I want to own the stock anyway so I spose the SEC will be coming after me now ???

We are really on the right track now aren't we ?
What happened to that 90 day plan 2 YEARS ago that your saviours Pelosi & Reid were going to implement.
And before you answer too quickly take a good look at what Republican "control" meant back then and you will know the answer.

  • Myth and Meaning in the Great Oil Game [View article]
You Bush bashers give me a pain in the ass. Why haven't your heroes - Phil, Nancy, Harry, et al and soon to be Obama done a damn thing except piss and moan about Bush ? There are over 400 people that control this government and whatever is happening is because that's what they want.
I guess your lives will be over in 2009 - Oh wait a minute - you will just continue to bash Bush.
It's about all you are qualified for.

  • 3 Aspects to Pricing Oil [View article]
Seems to me the "speculators" that have as much effect on the market as anybody is the media.
They predict the price of gas will go up - it does.
They never predict it go down - but it does anyway.
Here in Kalifornia last week gas was 4.60 - now 4.45.
Why? - figure it out - if you drive you know why except for the morons who mommy & daddy must buy their gas for them.
55 mph works - why no clamor for it now - will we wait for gas lines?
Guarantee - if Dems can implement their "solutions" you will see lines, rationing, etc. History will repeat itself.
Heard very little about the 15 cent drop - I heard one report that said gas was down 1 - 3 cents.
Wait till it goes back up 1 cent and watch the coverage.

News flash from the year 2020 - Democrats claim it will take 10 years to get any oil if we start drilling now.
Arnold down to one Hummer but we still ain't gonna drill of OUR coast.

  • Oil's Supply and Demand [View article]
Very good except your conclusion that:
"I think the best piece of evidence to support my fundamental supply and demand theory is that the price of oil is not the only commodity price that is skyrocketing. Food prices, metal prices and all energy prices in general are skyrocketing because the developing world is rapidly increasing its consumption of all commodities. "

The cost "price" of oil is the driving force that is directly or indirectly responsible for the other increases. Cause & effect.
Does the price of the other commodities determine the price of oil ?
e.g. If the price of rice goes up does that result in the oil price to increase ?

  • Oil and the 'Bad News Principle' [View article]
I don't know what an egghead is but I know one when I hear it when he closes with this:
    ----------------------...
"As far as I am concerned, this can only be done by imaginative economic policies, designed and implemented by intelligent governments that accept the seriousness of the present situation and are capable of thinking in terms of both long and short-term realities"
    ----------------------...
I'm surprised he didn't add "and only Obama can save us".
I know he has fallen off his ivory tower and landed on his head.
O'Reilly may be a "gasbag" but he makes more sense than you do.
There is no possible way or any theory you can postulate that reconciles current supply/demand with oil prices. Some folks are making a lot of money - some of them will lose a lot - too much to hope it will be the same ones - the rest of us are footing the bill.
God bless us all - worst country in the world - except for all the others !!!
