Whirlpool over expanded and buying every competior, now they cloe down factories, f em all, Wall Street has ruined everything that the unions had not. Then there are teh blowhard politicians telling us how to live, when they are all more fools than anything else.. Every empire falls, we fell faster than most. China made airplanes don't sound like a future that is any good. They can't even make dog food safe. Greedy companies with managment that is short sighted, ruins all the industrys. .

OLED Screens: Yet Another Technology Revolution

A 42" LED sure needs a large fixture to use it in how many lumens/watt does it do? LED tv is using LED for backligting correct? It's still an LCD panel for display correct? it's now about less than a 10 year technology cycle sumptin' new all teh time better, cheaper brighter. Remeber when Plasma (obsolete) was introduced as flat tv $15K they now are well under that ain't they and have become much better. Though LCD is teh way to go, many improvements, less power, lighter etc. Plasma is fini'. Old technology in 5 years OLED is gonna be it, PHILIPS has lotsa technology in this area, Sony makes nothing, it's a copy machine, they never did invent anything. It's a marketing company. Stick to technology makers, not copy machines. OLED lights are already out by Philips, of course first is pricey, then it drops.

Is There Still Hope for Sony?

Sony didn't invent anything, let alone "portable music"....come on already. They took a PHILIPS compact cassette and put it in a smaller cae. Philips invented teh audio cassette in teh 60's, they already had a portable cassette player/recorder..Sony took that idea, like they did with teh CD which PHILIPS brought to them and went with it. Philips didn't market it like Sony does on everything. Sony is a marketing company, they have not much going for it besides spending more on advertising than anyone. They didn't "invent" teh single gun CRT either, which they tagged Trinitron" and marketed it. do some reserach, Sony is a big marketing company, that they can't do that anymore either. They BUY LCD from Samsung, they had to have phones saved by Erricson, music by BMG, tv's by Samsung, they now even buy from even cheaper suppliers...The CD was brought to them as a working system by PHILIPS, becasue Matsushita turned it down, as being a partner on it.

the old saying goes you get what you pay for. FM radio is free but it's unlistenable now. The commercials are endless, the choke on free speech, those 7 dirty wurds that can't be said, if they slip up, the FCC stomps on em, cus' you know we need to protect peopel from the spoken word..... that's been done in otehr dictatorships, it works for a while, then it fails. sattelite is teh future, FM is now what AM is when FM was born in teh 60's. Does AM still exist? With all that static, noise low fidelity. FM is teh new AM, as far as programing, it all sucks. Unlistenable. Let's all hope SIRI and XM merge so they continue to offer real radio, with real people, talking liek REAL PEOPLE. Not having to talk like everything is a violation in this "free" country. If FM radio is so embedded, with a BILLION receivers, why is the FCC and the gov't staling and claiming SIRI/XM merger is a monopoly, buffet says terestial radio is forever, someone is wrong.....And both are actually. Satelites have changed tv, telephone, why not RADIO? I do own SIRI stock, cus' it's the future, FM radio is the rotary phone of broadcasting, lame programing, mindless blather, censorship too.

They need GE experts to run them. GE being teh best run company in teh world. I guess Bill Gates knows somethings going down, that's why he has left teh building. Current finacial guys at MSFT are just not with it. GE managment could transform it into a power again. This stock has been dead money for years, they just started paying a div it ain't enough.
