  • Apple Stock Split: 2 Theories [View article]
Interesting idea, buying Apple products because you own the stock. For me it was the opposite. I bought Apple stock after I bought my first Mac back in 1982. The stock has done OK since then.

I hope you are right this time as well. I wish you weren't right when you said sell but you were and I would have done well to listen. Even though my cost basis is around $30 it still hurts to see those profits evaporate.

#4 is a very interesting theory. Where do you see Apple going in terms of price?

  • The Real Reason Apple Keeps Going Down [View article]
bailinnumberguy - That's a very good strategy. I have made many more profitable trades going against his advice than I have following it. In one of his first books I recall him talking about a time when his hedge fund was losing terribly. He asked his wife if he should sell everything. She told him the time to sell was long past and the only way his portfolio could go from there was up. Apparently he never learned that lesson.

Gene - "Talk about the trappings of a clown"
In August when Apple was around $630 Cramer was screaming "BUY". Now that is down close to $100 he is screaming "SELL". He was wrong in August, what are the odds of him being wrong now? Like you I am holding on to my shares.

Tusc - Your theory is right on target. I expect the next run to occur before the 1st quarter earnings come out in January. The question is how high will it go before the selling and negativity begin again. With or without a new catalyst I expect a blow out quarter.

    Long Apple since 2002.

  • Buy Apple Now While It's Cheap [View article]
"As the heavy hitters pile out at new highs, they are just as likely to pile back in when the stock is both cheap and ripe for holiday earnings, and those that thought Apple had seen its best days are likely to follow suit."

And those that recognize that and increase their investment "when the stock is both cheap and ripe for holiday earnings" will do quite well. Now is the time to buy. Thanks for a good article!

  • An Options Idea To Safely Finance Your Retirement Using Apple [View article]
Interesting trade. I doubt that Apple will fall to $600 anytime soon. How would the anticipated result differ if you were to not include the puts?

  • How We Made 613% With Apple Options In 7 Weeks And Expect To Do It Again In 4 Months [View article]
"I'm curious, how might I find out the specific trading strategy, step by step, as a model for trading options on Apple?"

    Chris,
You are wise to not trade in options until you understand them. There are many places you can go to gain an understanding of how options work. I have held Apple since it was at 30 and it has been a great stock to hold. I have also made a nice return on Apple call options both buying and selling but no where near what Terry has been able to achieve. I read a lot of what he has wrote and he is one of the best Apple option advisors I have found. I recently signed up for his program as I believe his research and knowledge are worth more than what it costs. Even if you don't want to sign up I would advise you to read his blog to learn about his option strategies if you are considering getting started in option trading.

  • Apple: Take The Money And Run [View article]
Having owned Apple since it was about $30 I have been tempted to sell several times. But each time I think about what Sir John Templeton said when he was asked when it was time to sell a stock. His reply was "When you find something better to buy".
I'm still looking. Anyone have any suggestions?

  • Lessons In Missing The Apple Bandwagon [View article]
"O'k I am gonna make everyone rich here that will listen to this and do it"
I currently hold deep in the money Jan 14 calls as well as the shares. Glad to hear I am going to be rich. If you know how Apple trades buying the weeklies does provide more funds to buy more leaps.

" That logic amazingly is lost on a very high percentage of people."

You are so correct. But given the fact that so many people don't realize that maybe there is value in a 10 for 1.
