Everyone here sounds like a financial analyst sprouting all sorts of expert advice or guesses where the company stock price is heading.
I really don't know myself but I just buy Apple stocks because I have faith in Apple that they will keep coming out with great products.
With only 4% of the world's computer market and 13% of the smartphones market they have huge potentials. Not forgetting the ecosystem of tying all the products together and an OS that laid the foundation for future potential expansion and last but not least the $1B server farm in NC. Is Apple clueless about where they are going?
With their proven track records and vested interests I don't mind putting my bets on Apple.

We are not jealous of the Pre success if there is one, its upgrade path is limited and will probably look at where the iPhone is going.
The Pre team always be a follower and always looking out for missing features in the iPhone so they can one up the iPhone but for them to innovate ,I am sorry to say, they simply have no idea where to go.

Can a cut of 1600 personnel from their retail division can have such an impact on gross margin so if they cut another 2000 will the gross margin go up by another 20%?
Get real, retail staff do not have that great an impact on gross margin especially when some of them are on a part time basis. The real impact will come from labour costs and components for their hardware and R&D and labour costs for their software.
In addition their cash hoard enable them to get their components at the best price.
iPhone platform will be bigger than the PCs, why? because it is a mobile computer which you can bring it to anywhere. Most of the everyday stuffs like surfing, checking emails, write your blog, can be done by it easily besides listening to music, watching videos and answering calls. And now gamers can play games on it. Give it a few years you will be eating your words.
