  • Bakken Update: Frac Sand Pricing Could Go Parabolic In Q3 2014 [View article]
I have been buying it since last September. It' a bit volatile. As long as keeping cost basis low, it is a good stock to own. It pays a small dividends too.

  • ChemoCentryx: Reviving Vercirnon [View article]
It is too risky to invest in beaten down bio tech stocks. For example, SVNT filed Chapter 11, a couple of weeks ago.

CCXI is on my watch list for some times. I pulled the trigger today and bought 100 shares at $5.04. I am prepared that it may go down the drain. That is all I think I can risk. I hope it will double.

  • An mREIT Play With No Risk? Hedging Two Harbors Investment Corp. [View article]
I am trying the hedging you suggested in your article with DTYS . I bought $3k worth of TWO & MFA in the middle of October, and $3k worth of DTYS these two days to hedge against them. Since They were purchase at different times, I am now 5% to 6% ahead(after offsetting with DTYS). I have other mREITs like ACRE, CIM... ,which are not really inversely correlated with DTYS. So the others are not being hedged. I am going to see how it work out. Thanks for the article.

  • An mREIT Play With No Risk? Hedging Two Harbors Investment Corp. [View article]
bob, The author, in this article, talked about using ETN DTYS to hedge the position in mREIT TWO, in order to protect the 10~12% dividends TWO currently pays. Buying DTYS alone is pure speculation that the 10-yr Treasury bond rate will go up.
