    • Should You Put Your Eggs in Cal-Maine's Basket? [view article]
Evaluating CALM's fair value (whatever THAT means) by comparisons to corporate bond yields is like evaluating a car's performance by looking at the glove box. It all comes down to egg prices and where you think they are headed. That will tell the story of the stock. Don't forget that 1/3 of earnings are now payed as a divvy - surely that raises the acceptable multiple. May 02 10:55 AM
    • Garmin: Clearly Something's Not Right [view article]
The market is discounting the future, period. Navigation devices may not be a fad, but they are A) no longer cutting edge, B) Not necessary for the marginal buyer (the people who really find them useful already have them for the most part), C) As with any other electronic device, margins go way down as time goes on (PCs, microchips, PDAs, cell phones, DVD players, flat screen TVs, memory, etc etc). To think this is any different is delusional. Not saying the company is going down the crapper, but margins will continue to drop, and so will the stock. Apr 10 04:27 PM
