Annual shareholder meeting headaches: An increasing trend at this year's round of shareholder meeting for major companies is a rash of negative publicity from loud activist shareholders looking to score points on political issues. McDonald's (MCD) had to engage in spirited debate and a shareholder vote on childhood obesity - while CBS (CBS) had its meeting nearly taken over by a pro-Israel group. During the Q&A session of Time Warner's (TWX) meeting, CEO Jeff Bewkes was bombarded with complaints over CNN's coverage on major issues. Though the companies won all the important shareholder votes, execs appeared a little more bedraggled than normal.

An interesting development from the upfront meetings in New York City is the strong presentation by Univision in front of media buyers as the Spanish-language network makes the case for higher advertising rates due to its defeat of NBC in the sweeps period and the high rate of Latino growth in the U.S. What to watch: Univision is increasingly a force to be reckoned with and could take a little bit of bargaining power away from NBCUniversal (CMCSA) and CBS (CBS) during the upfront confab. (Bloomberg video)

U.S. airlines collected $6B in baggage fees (+3.8% Y/Y) and reservation change fees (+7.3%) last year as the industry's model continues to shift. This year looks like it could bring airliners an even bigger haul with American Airlines (AAMRQ.PK), Delta Airlines (DAL +1.7%), United Continental (UAL +1.2%), and US Airways (LCC +2.4%) all raising their domestic flight fee change 33% higher to $200 while Southwest Airlines (LUV +0.5%) adds some cancellations fees of its own.

The FAA says it will cut staffing by 10% at airports in Atlanta, Chicago, and Los Angeles this Sunday in one of its first rounds of cuts tied to mandatory budget reductions under the sequester. Though the prospect of fewer air traffic controllers sounds daunting, carriers haven't announced just yet that the development will impact the number of flights flown or revenue booked this quarter.

"Too little has been changed to avoid a repeat of the problem," says the Boston Fed's Eric Rosengren, arguing banks with broker-dealer units continue to hold too little capital. "The status quo represents an ongoing financial stability risk." The largest ones still standing are MS, UBS, GS, C, DB, CS, BAC, BCS, and JPM, and each of the U.S. ones passed the Fed stress test and are returning capital.

The fallout of the merger between American Airlines (AAMRQ.PK) and US Airways (LCC +2.2%) on airline ticket prices is starting to be felt as fares on several major routes jump over 40%. Though routes where the two merging carriers dominate will see the biggest fare jumps, a ripple effect on pricing could be felt in the entire sector.

If you hang around 7/11 stores you can get the coffee cup that patrons throw away and there is always some coffee in the bottom of it. Just get about 8 of these cups and pour the remaining coffee in each cup into one cup and you should get a 1/2 cup of coffee. Then have the clerk heat it up for you. Then add a 1/2 cup of milk with some sugar. It is free!!!! Enjoy it Michael!!

NBC plans to install Jimmy Fallon as the next host of the iconic The Tonight Show following the 2014 Winter Olympics with the cantankerous Jay Leno set to end his longtime affiliation with the network. What to watch: The network's more immediate future is hinged on the return of The Voice and Revolution which helped pull the Comcast (CMCSA -0.7%) property out of its extended ratings slump as well as its new sports channel which needs to justify its hefty programming costs by generating significant ad revenue and carriage fees.

"We're now at the point where it's about boots on the ground rather than the latest lawsuit," says SNL's Nancy Bush as Bank of America (BAC) CEO Moynihan summons 100 of his regional chiefs to a private meeting where they'll be egged on to move more product. The bank, she says, is notable for being "lousy" at cross-selling.

Bank of America (BAC) CEO Moynihan received $950K in pay in 2012, but a nice boost in his (all-stock bonus), which sums to about $11M vs. $7M in 2011.
