  • A 4% Dividend Yield Portfolio With A 10% DGR Is Good Enough For Me [View article]
    Ron.
Why start at TRYING to obtain 4% when you can get 6% plus to start?
If I cannot get 6% I move on.
The preferred stocks of Bank of America (L) and Sun Trust (E) pay that.
The SunTrust bank can call the shares in at $25 on 3-15-18. Now sells for $24.50 range.
The BAC-L cannot be called in and is a convertible as well.
The only reason I can see for not buying them is if the economy falters, but you will still get the 6% plus dividend.

  • Backed By Analysts, Bank Of America Looks Like 25%-30% Upside [View article]
Here is some more on the Canadian Bank.

In April 2012, Sutton Royal's accounts at the Toronto-Dominion Bank and National Bank were frozen, after an internal bank investigation determined one Toronto-Dominion account was missing more than $1.6 million, while a National Bank account had a deficit of more than $400,000.

    Great internal controls.... lol lol

Here is a good Canadian Bank.....................

(Reuters) - Toronto-Dominion Bank (TD.TO) will pay $52.5 million to settle U.S. civil regulatory charges that it failed to report suspicious activity in accounts linked to a Ponzi scheme by Florida lawyer Scott Rothstein, who is serving a 50-year prison term.

The Canadian lender's TD Bank NA unit was fined $37.5 million by the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) and Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC), and $15 million by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

  • How Starbucks Keeps Innovating [View article]
If you go to 7 11 stores you can get free coffee. When a paying customer gets a coffee he will usually throw the cup away after finishing it. Get that cup outa the trash and wait for the next customer to do the same, throw his cup away. There is always coffee left over. If you gather enough cups the coffee will be free and you can get some milk and sugar for it for free.
This brings your cost down to zero over a life time because you do not have to make coffee at home. True story!
