Not a chance they will do something for the employees except lower their wages and benefits. The pilot's contract was already 5 years late before the bankruptcy. Their stock will be worthless. I learned a long time ago that as an airline employee you are used and disposed of at retirement. I have the back injuries to affirm that and a measly pension. AMR could care less about employees but the same goes for the union. The dues do not decrease and the cycle goes on and on.

AMR will reorganize on there own. No bail outs. The stock will be worthless. In time they will issue new stock for the suckers to buy. Kinda like GM new shares opening at $33 sh and now $21 sh. Do not expect dividends. And Ponzi survives into a new generation....... Like Bob Crandell said. He would not buy airline stock. It is a gamble, not an investment.
Being new, here is some advise. Rule # 1. If it doesn't pay a decent dividend you skip it and go to the next stock. 55 yrs. in the market and I swear by it.
Kinda like K-Mart going into bankruptcy and then coming out of it and buying Sears Roebuck. Just a shell game to screw the 99% while the big shots get their golden parachutes regardless. The ONLY way to control this is not with laws but with the incorporation in contracts that indicate that those at the top have ALL their personal monies and properties confiscated if massive fraud or bankruptcy is declared.
