  • Boardwalk Pipeline's Yield Tops 8%, With Distributions Growing Steadily  [View article]
"Better MLP's than BWP out there", well if there are please name them. BWP pipes 10% of the gas that moves in this country. I intend to keep BWP until I die or when we have no more gas in the ground. I also own LINE, ETP, SPH, EXLP at much lower prices, love the distributions (not dividends) and will look to add when oppurtunities arise.

I have been following GGN which pays $.14 cents per month for a $1.68 yearly divi. At the current price that equals a 9.7% yield. You say 6.625% coupon. Am I missing something?

As someone who enjoys dividends in the 5+ range I am more than willing to take the 6.32 divi over the 3.83 divi and deal with a little paper work at the end of the year.

I consider them excellent vehicles for retirement accounts at the present time. As far as the K-1's are concerned they are easily handled in most decent tax programs and since I use an accountant they are no problem for me at all.

  • Brookfield Infrastructure Partners: Utility Play Wrapped in an MLP  [View article]
    to gcmagone,

Why are you worried about a K-1? If held in an IRA there is no tax consequence. If held in a taxable account any accountant with a half-way-decent program has no problem with them, and if you do your own, having the same type of tax program will handle them with ease.
You are throwing away a great income vehicle because of some form.

  • Buy the Dip on These 7 Large Cap MLPs  [View article]
I'm getting a little tired of all the nonsense from commentors complaining of what a hassle K-1's are at tax time. That is just not true. If you or your accountant have any tax savvy and a decent tax program there is no problems whatsoever from the K-1's. They may come a little closer to the April deadline for reporting but if I owe the government any money I'm not in a big hurry to pay the wasteful SOB's anyway.

Stupid is as stupid does. I hope I 'm still around to see what they come with for an alternative in 2034. Should be interesting.
