  • Bakken Update: This Bakken Focused Microcap Had A Blow Out Q3 [View article]
With the recent dip in the stock prices of some our great domestic oils, this is a great time to add to long positions. Energy is key to growth in every segment of the civilized world. The American domestic oils will be key to that growth and a lot of investors will wonder how they missed the opportunity that exists right now to build a great portfolio with these domestic energy plays. Good luck to those of you who know better and thank you Michael for enlightening us. I am long EOG, PXD and also like WLL, CLR and COG. Actually, when you look at how many great companies there are in the USA, it makes you feel like a kid in the candy store trying to figure out which ones you want to buy. Gregg L

I can't wait for the day when we become major exporters of LNG. That may not be that far off as these expensive facilities are built, along with the ships to carry product overseas. I believe that LNG, along with oil, will both send the value of our domestic oil/natgas companies higher for a long time to come.

Thanks for the water info Mike. Also, you have stated in previous articles on the sand, that EOG Resources is way ahead of the rest of the pack by owning its own sand, a huge advantage in cost savings. I will continue to add to my long position on EOG Resources (EOG)- Gregg

WOW!! Your research is amazing Michael, as always. I find this domestic boom simply mind boggling. Anyone who is ignoring the domestic oil boom right now has their head int he sand. The risks are huge, as you imply, for some of these companies.

My question is this: What about water availability for all of these oil companies? Is their enough water available for all of these drillers? I would think that water costs are high and going higher, as is the cost of sand/silica needed to fracture shale. Where is the water coming from? I have heard for years that the midwestern aquifers are drying up do to farming.

Mike, I haven't heard a great deal of news on drilling in in Colorado. Do you believe that this state will be big in the future for any of the companies that you cover?

  • 3 Reasons Why Apple Is Heading Lower [View article]
China is 3G right now and the iphone 5's are 4G LTE. China is going 4G and guess what, those iphones are going to be in on the ground floor of the 4G change. Sure, most Chinese can't afford the price of an iphone 5, but when you are talking about all the new Chinese rich who can, the iphones will sell by the truckload anyway.

Geez, if anyone here does not have some AAPL in their portfolio, you are missing out on a future rise in the stock that will make you very angry someday. Don't be one of the procrastinators that says, Damn! I could have purchased AAPL for under $600 and now its at $1000! I wonder what I was thinking.

  • Seadrill: High Earning Visibility Makes It A Buy [View article]
I had to sell SDRL. Why? Well, now that oil is flowing and easy to get on land, especially in the USA, SDRL will find renting out those rigs to be a difficult task. The average drilling rig costs a ton of cash per day for a driller to rent and with the margins on oil getting squeezed, who needs to go deep sea for oil right now? The dividend will be an anchor around SDRL's nect as oil prices stay low. Sell SDRL.

The problem is this with our current health care system BuyL0w: Costs have been rising to ridiculous levels and something had to be done. Why didn't the Republicans come out with a rational health care plan of their own if they didn't like Obamacare? The GOP has been the party of the rich for so long, they could care less about the average American except on election day. At least Obama has tried to help those of us with health issues, me not being one of them yet, but that doesn't mean I want to allow our citizens to die in the streets like most Republicans do. Actually, Obamacare may cut costs the way it looks right now. Hospitals won't be raping us, that's for sure.

  • Apple Would-Be Shorts: Bide Your Time, Apple's Run Will Be Over Soon Enough [View article]
Amazon is the mystery stock of the 21st century thus far. It could tank big in just a day if some big, bad retail news were to hit the headlines. But, on the other hand, it could also double if the economy has a big upside surprise. It is in way too thin air for me.

I see that TSLA shot up $20 bucks today and that is just crazy. As long as batteries can't be made fast enough to keep up with the numbers needed to propel Tesla, how can this stock go much higher?

Whoops! rrose, you somehow got me off topic with the AMZN comment.

I think that if I were short AAPL right now, I would be taking a lot of Tums most of the day and looking for a tall bridge to do a swan dive off of. Apple has been beaten down and is like a caged lion about to roar back to life.

Obviously, it appears Blair has lost his shirt shorting Apple and is showing his desperation by writing such a silly negative on AAPL, in order to sway the Apple crowd. I can understand why he is so distraught. Apple is headed higher, much higher. I would like to thank Mr. Blair for putting all of his cash pile, into my cash pile. Thank you Michael.

  • Apple Is Thinking Longer Than Mr. Market - Margins And Average Selling Prices Will Reverse Trend [View article]
If and when Apple comes out with a new bigger iphone, that will be the end of Samsung and the rest of the cheaply made phones out there. Tim Cook is not a stupid man and Apple is a very patient company when it comes to new products. They do not produce "fad" toys, but quality hardware and software that people have come to depend on. Also, Apple makes the phones that business uses which really is a revealing fact.

    Retail,

Remember when George Bush jr. kept saying that everyone should own a home and he removed as many regulations and regulators of the banking industry as he possibly could, allowing loans to go to even the unemployed? The Fed has been trying to keep us out of a depression due to all of that mortgage debt.
