"still confused by why Friedland would let the South Gobi/Chalco happen without going through the proper channels" It is pretty simple. South Gobi & Chalco deal was doomed from the beginning. When it comes to business deals concerning minerals or land in Mongolia you always have to look at the relations between the bordering countries. Doesn't matter how profitable or great the deal is Mongolia would never let a Chinese Company buy South Gobi Co, . Allowing that happen will be a political suicide for any politician. It is sad but true fact. China secretly bought and own many small oil and mining fields around the great Gobi area already but nothing on a scale of "South Gobi"
Well, couple of things. Aside from all the numbers you are throwing around there are many other things that makes the company better than the rest. I don't know much about stats and numbers but i know people. So i make my stock purchases based and people trend, not on market trend. So far it has worked great for me. I am not a huge fan of Apple but i do respect the fact that they have turned themselves into a not only a great electronic gadget company but a huge fashion accessory. For most people having a apple lap top is not only a necessity its a fashion statement. Same goes for all the multiple color iPods. ( white string ads) Now i don't know if you work out or not, but 1 out of every 5 girls who work out wears LULU clothes. Ask any one of them and they will tell you a one thing. How great it makes their ass look. Yes i said it. Women will buy and will keep buying more and more LULU pants. Doesn't matter how much it costs as long as it keeps making them feel better about their butt. So that being said maybe its time for you to get out from behind your numbers and computers and do some actual consumer research. Walk in to your nearest LULU store and then tell me what you think afterwards. Maybe even try some of their mens pants. You don't have to buy it, but do try them on. Product testing :)
PS: I've bought LULU stocks when they were $9 :)
